🌟 As October comes to a close, let's take a moment to reflect on the significance of Mental Health Month. At Totom we've been fortunate to work on some amazing shows that have helped raise mental health awareness, like "Out of Her Mind", "Fleabag" and more recently "Everything Now". 🧠 October's Mental Health Month is a time to acknowledge the challenges many individuals face, to break the stigma surrounding mental health, and to promote self-care and empathy. 🎥 The TV and film industry is no stranger to high-stress environments, long hours, and the constant quest for perfection. It's easy to get lost in the hustle and bustle, but it's equally essential to remember to take care of our mental well-being. 📜 Moreover, the recent writers' strike has added to the uncertainty and pressure in our industry. It has impacted livelihoods and job security, leading to heightened stress and anxiety. As we navigate these challenging times, let's come together to support one another and work towards a healthier and more stable industry. 💪 Let's remember that mental health is just as important as physical health. As October and Mental Health Month ends, let's continue to check in with ourselves and others, lend a compassionate ear, and recognise that seeking help is an act of courage and strength. 💚 Together, we can make a positive impact. Let's create a world where mental health is prioritised, understood, and openly discussed. @filmtvcharity #MentalHealthMonth #BreakTheStigma #MentalHealthMatters #OutofHerMind #EverythingNow #SupportEachOther #Fleabag #Craftsmanship #TVandFilm #BehindTheScenes #CreativeProcess #TVMagic #TVSetDesign #setdesign #setproduction #setdesigner #productiondesign #design #manufacture #carpentry #totom #totomconstruction #TVandfilm #FilmSet #TVset #filmprops #setconstruction #sceneryconstruction #setbuilding #scenicdesign

As we say farewell to Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, I'm reminded of: 🌳The deep cultural traditions of Black and Brown folx, and how staying connected to those traditions can keep us rooted and grounded, even when, perhaps especially when, there are twists and turns in our lives. 🌳The ways that Black and Brown folx have been the picture of "resilience" before it was a trend or a hashtag. 🌳The fact that each and every time Black and Brown folx choose to prioritize their mental health, an ancestor sings. 🌳The truth that healing of Black and Brown folx is most optimally done in community, and that similarly to the branches of this tree, we're all interconnected. My healing impacts your healing, and vice versa. Check out this website from the Human Rights Campaign for more info about mental health resources for folx with systemically marginalized identities: https://lnkd.in/gBfbvUiY Black and Brown folx, may we always remember the greatness that we carry in our roots. And remember, #mentalhealthishealth 🌳🌳🌳 #minoritymentalhealthawarenessmonth #bipocmentalhealth #resiliency #healingtogether #naturetherapy #blacktherapist

Writing at the intersection of psychology and art; exploring (and helping others learn) how to use craft/art/self-expression to heal individuals and communities
Art serves as a vehicle through which we can externalize our innermost feelings and thoughts, translating them into tangible and often symbolic forms. For those grappling with mental health issues, art can be both healing and challenging. On the one hand, the act of creating art can serve as a therapeutic outlet for the expression and processing of complex emotions. It offers a safe space for individuals to confront their feelings, fears, and traumas. Through the symbolic language of art, they can explore and communicate their inner worlds, potentially finding a sense of catharsis and emotional relief. However, the process of artistic creation can also be a challenge, especially for those dealing with mental health issues. It may bring to the surface intense and painful emotions, triggering difficult memories or experiences. The act of delving into one's feelings can be both liberating and distressing. Additionally, the fear of judgment or self-doubt may arise during the creative process, further complicating the relationship between art and mental health. #ArtAndEmotion #SymbolicExpression #TherapeuticArt #EmotionalRelease #MentalHealthJourney #HealingThroughArt #ArtisticTherapy #ChallengesInArt #CreativeCatharsis #ArtisticExpression #MentalHealthStruggles #ArtisticVulnerability #HealingJourney #EmbraceTheComplexity #MentalHealthSupport #ArtisticProcess #ExpressingEmotions #NavigatingEmotions #ArtisticChallenges #CreativeExpression #MentalHealthAndArt #EmotionalExploration #createmefree #mentalhealthmatters #quoteoftheweek #wordstoliveby #artandmentalhealth #artastherapy
