Inner Forgiveness – Outer Forgiveness

Outer-Inner-Forgiveness

Balance Love with Order!

“Mercy and Forgiveness must be balanced by the necessity for Peace and Order.”

Master Choa Kok Sui

Order is a necessity and a prerequisite to create peace. In fact too much love and forgiveness can lead to chaos; so in order to achieve peace, some people cannot be externally forgiven all the time!

“Sometimes it is time to say “Enough!” It is time to change. Sometimes we must say “Stop!”

Master Choa Kok Sui

Although Internal Forgiveness is for all, External Forgiveness should be practiced on a case-to-case basis; Why? to exert justice and order in a group, community, country or nation.

We, human beings, live in groups; so we cannot act just based on our own desires and needs. In fact the deeds of each one of us, affect the whole. If any deed is therefore injurious to the rest, it should be stopped.

For example a person, who is not doing his work properly in the office, should not always be externally forgiven, not to set a wrong example for others. If no serious action is taken in this case, careless working and escaping from responsibilities will become a norm and after a while no one will carry the work diligently; and the reason is lack of order and improper practice of forgiveness.

This concept however should not be mistaken with inner forgiveness. Inner forgiveness is a virtue to develop and the effect is internal peace, joy and calmness. It helps us release anger, resentment and hatred and get internally healed. That is why internal forgiveness is inclusive. It is to be practiced on everyone, the good and the bad, all the time.

“Inner Forgiveness is therapeutic. If you do not Forgive you cannot be Internally Healed. Forgiving heals the Soul.”

Master Choa Kok Sui

Inner forgiveness deals with love and compassion, while outer forgiveness deals with the necessity to create order and justice. These two must be balanced!

In other words in relation to outer forgiveness, maintaining order and harmony should be taken into consideration. Sometimes serious actions should be taken.

This is not only practiced to save a greater number of people from the harmful acts of a few but also to introduce such wrongful deeds as unfavorable and undesirable.

If the offender is not externally punished, he might become a threat to society. In this case, although the person under hurt, should forgive the offender internally, but needs to take serious action externally not only to protect the future victims, but also to help the offender learn a lesson.

“Under extreme conditions, force is necessary to minimize or prevent injury.”

Master Choa Kok Sui

In fact not forgiving such people externally is not because of anger or resentment but because of love in a greater scale.

One of the examples of balancing inner forgiveness and outer forgiveness is how parents act in upbringing their children.

If the child commits something wrong, they forgive him internally because of so much love and care they have towards the child. However externally they take action by punishing the child in order to educate him.

A child, who is not learnt to behave properly because of too much love and lack of order, can become a problem for the society and even injurious to himself.

“Injury can be done through Inaction. Tolerating a wrongful deed is equivalent to injury through Inaction… Love has to be under the control of the Will – guided by Wisdom and Intelligence.”
