Just before midnight on Tuesday, a group of men answered their phones, crawled out of bed and headed to Tangipahoa Fire District 1 to put out a fire at the Purina Feed Mill in Arcola, Deputy Chief Jason King said.
“Our guys did a good job,” King said. “They got there, stretched some hose out, found what they needed to and took care of it.”
King said the crew worked with Purina management to ensure the area was safe. No injuries were reported.
The men put out the fire in less than an hour, King said.
