Wildfire Prevention

Texas is currently experiencing widespread high to extreme forecast wildfire danger. The combination of high temperatures, dry vegetation and windy conditions increases the potential for significant wildfires resistant to control. Resources have been created to monitor the heat conditions and offer resources to prevent wildfires. Click here for more information. Saturday Wellness sessions held at the Fire Hall Patio the first Saturday of every month 9:30 am to 10:30 am:

Event will be held outdoors on the patio/lawn. Yoga, wellness tips, breathing exercises Participants need to bring their own mat and water for hydration. Children must be accompanied by adult guardian. No children under age 8 please. Donations will be for the benefit of Volente Fire Department Auxiliary. Suggested amount is $10 per person. Firefighters attend for free.

 

 Short-term Rental Conditional Use Permit

Please be advised that Short Term Rentals are not a permitted use of property in the Village of Volente.  To qualify for an STR, you must first obtain a Conditional Use Permit, which includes a P&Z public hearing, as well as a Council Meeting public hearing.  Neighbors within 500 feet of your property are required to be notified in advance.  Please understand that by following the process and submitting the appropriate application fees does not guarantee approval of operating an STR.  If a Conditional Use Permit is approved, you will receive a Short Term Rental License, which will need to be renewed annually.  For more information on the process for a Short-term Rental Conditional Use Permit, click here
