2011 reprint of 1953 edition. Emmet Fox (1886-1951) was born in Ireland, and is a famous New Thought spiritual leader of the early 20th Century. He had a large influence on the founding of Alcoholics Anonymous. His writing, especially "The Sermon on the Mount," became popular in AA. Fox taught that the foundation for all true productive expression was positive thinking. The technique involved having conscious awareness of our daily thought process and connectivity to God in order to realize any change or manifestation in the external environment. This concept was also taught by many mystics, including Rumi, Jesus, Buddha, Gandhi, and others from across all wisdom traditions. Fox believed that the doctrine of the mental equivalent was an essential metaphysical teaching; the doctrine that you will receive that for which you provide the mental equivalent.

I just started reading this book, and although I'm enjoying the material, it's kind of annoying the way it was printed with large pages but small print. I've never seen a book like this.

This book may not be as long as others however it's still a great book worth reading. Another book that's recommended which introduced me to Emmett Fox is The Golden Key. Both books are worth the time reading

The most essential idea at the heart of Fox's teachings, laid out with stunning clarity. Essential for serious students of the Science of Mind movement.

it’s an inside job, and Emmet Fox has a skillful way of reminding me of that. Whether your new to Unity thinking are an old hand at “new thought”, this is inspirational.

I've been studying the impact of thought on life conditions and situations and this book gives a clear and powerful explanation that if we desire to be, do or have something we must hold a clear image of it in our minds. I liked the illustration used about taking a picture of an object. You can not take two different pictures at the same time. You must focus on one object to capture it in the photo. You must see yourself or situation as you desire, not as it is. You can hold on to the mental movie of your current situation or, you can create a new mental movie of you in your desired situation. Anyone exploring the power of thoughts and imaging, should absolutely have this book. I really like it because it get straight to the point and is a short book, but yet stuffed full of insightful instruction and advice. It's the kind of book you carry with you and read a chapter or passage when you get in internal nudging. Read it regularly to ensure the concepts stick.

5.0 out of 5 stars Emmet Fox - A Superbeing!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on July 19, 2020
Manifestation which Emmet calls as demonstration is well explained with very good analogies! (the old projector and slide) He has kept it so simple and yet the entire message is so CLEAR!

You are always out-picturing your mental equivalent, which is nothing but your state of consciousness, belief system and what you are BEING! "As within, so without"!
