I feel compelled to save someone from believing what the Negative Reviewers of this product have said. To anyone reading the negative reviews, let me point out my thoughts and beliefs about those negative reviewers' ideas:
My theories as to why the negative reviewers said what they did are the following (and please note that I am NOT criticizing these people personally, I am simply stating my OPINIONS as to why they formulated the feedback that they gave, so that someone considering buying the book can benefit from it)
They most likely went into the book with negative ideas, which immediately closes their minds off from considering, paying attention to, or trying the tools and ideas presented, and/or which predisposes them to look for anything that could possibly be negative or faulty about those ideas or tools (in their mind)
They didn't read the book carefully or truly grasp the concept of what was presented, for one reason or another
They didn't carefully follow the directions exactly as instructed, thereby nullifying any positive effects of the tools
Some people also pointed out that the author is very repetitive throughout the book. I believe it was repetitive for a reason. The whole point of the book is to drill into your mind and make you think, over and over, about why this really works. The idea, and the instructions, are that you must repeat things in a specific way, and so I believe the repetitive nature of the writing is there to consciously or subconsciously begin programming your mind to get you in the right direction.
Finally, while the author presents some very good examples of self-talk, he notes that it will be helpful for you to sit down and write your own self-talk that deals with your own personal needs, in a way that specifically covers all angles and elements of those issues. I truly believe that if you utilize the concepts exactly as presented, and you do it thoroughly and consistently, it will work wonders and change your life.
