Born in New York City, Paul Selig attended New York University and received his master's degree from Yale. A spiritual experience in 1987 left him clairvoyant. Selig is considered one of the foremost contributors to the field of channeled literature working today.

Paul offers channeled workshops internationally. He serves on the faculty of The Omega Institute, The Kripalu Center and the Esalen Institue. Also a noted playwright and educator, he served on the faculty of NYU for over 25 years. He directed the MFA in Creative Writing Program at Goddard College for many years he now serves on the college's Board of Trustees. He lives in New York City where he maintains a private practice as an intuitive and conducts frequent livestream seminars. This is a life-changing read!
As a student of the Guides, I absolutely loved this book. For me, this text is the most profound yet of all Paul Selig’s channeled texts because it delivers a new level of teaching. It is for the serious student. I found it to be SO in sync with both my personal/inner life and with the current cultural, societal, and political situations the world is facing. As I read, I noted the many times I felt like the Guides knew my concerns and my needs at the very moment I began reading the page, no matter when I picked it up! There was an awareness, a connection and an intimacy in the teaching. As I read this book, I felt the truth of the teachings in my heart. The Guides’ tell it like it is; their words are honest and frank yet there is a sense of humor and playfulness too. Paul’s questions throughout the book are essential and helpful because they prompt the Guides to explain with more detail and give examples. The Guides meet the needs of the reader. The way the Guides deliver these teachings, confounds me and thrills me. I highly suggest purchasing and reading Alchemy for everyone searching to live this life in a full, truthful, and loving way so that humankind may usher in a new world. This is a pivotal text.

My first observation is that if this is your first Paul Selig book this is not the place to start. Start with his first book ‘I Am The Word’. Unless you are a spiritual genius then many of concepts discussed may not be intuitively obvious. For example, the main affirmation that the Guides repeat with frequency starting with the 3rd or 4th book goes as follows: “I know who I am, I know what I am, I know how I serve.” It took me a while to wrap my mind around what this affirmation actually means. With “I know who I am” the Guides want us to stop thinking of ourselves as our personality self but rather as Divine. We are an aspect and expression of the Divine, God, All-That-Is. “What” in the phrase “I know what I am” refers to the fact that you are an aspect of the Divine expressing in physical form. “I know how I serve” does not refer necessarily to doing stuff but rather how you express in physical form, your expression is how you serve. The goal of this affirmation and the Guides teachings overall is a spiritual reunification with the Divine. However, the problem is we have created an artificial separation with the Divine because we no longer believe that everyone and everything is Divine. If you hate someone or something, then you hate some aspect of the Divine and as a result have separated yourself from God. The Guides through these teachings seek to help us solve this dilemma but it starts with the individual. The individual can do this by raising his/her vibration to a higher octave (also referred to as the Upper Room or Christ Mind) which is a place where Fear does not exist. We can’t take our personal baggage to the upper room; we have to be willing to shed our ideas of self that are inconsistent with our Divine self, this includes much of our personal history and most societal conventions of who and what we are and how we have come to perceive our world. Because we have free will this also requires realigning, or braiding, our personal will with the will of our divine selves. As we do this we begin to subtly and incrementally change our world, and our false self begins to fall away. This process is in turn infectious. Like a tuning fork, as you vibrate at a higher level you have an impact on others. You create change not so much through doing but through your expression. “Articulation, which is the re-manifestation of the Divine as what it has always been, reclaims you as the vessel of expression. Why we use the word alchemy to describe this process is because it is the spiritualization or re-knowing of form. And to be re-known in form is, indeed, to be re-created in the higher octave of expression.” (page 197)

The guides of Paul Selig have gifted us with another book, an eighth in a series of nine, titled Alchemy. May I be so bold as to suggest that these 9 books are one book, albeit an ancient Library, a manifested stream of ancient wisdom? When you finish Alchemy, go back to the earlier books and see what I mean.

In this eighth book, the guides have their usual say, but here in Alchemy I find quotable and familiar ideas that have not appeared so clearly in such pedestrian language. Take this one on page 96, where the fourth and fifth uses of the word “Alchemy” appear:

Any idea you have about manifestation, what it must mean to embody the divine, will be seen as a creation, the best the small self could do in understanding alchemy. And the alchemy of Spirit in flesh, the overtaking of form and the surrender of ego or personality to the divine is the rising of the Christ that has come as each of you.

There’s no time in an Amazon review to fragment this multilayered artifact of meanings into its significances, but time must be made to remind ourselves that the guides themselves, like here, over and over, point to deep levels of divinity embedded within everything, beyond even the secular assignations within our language.

Take in the fact that the book is titled “Alchemy”, 261 pages about that subject, and here is the keyword appearing twice, separated only by a dot and the word “and.” Alchemy asks us, I think, to let in the idea that the guides are creating “insight-experiences” within us by the very architecture of the words on the page, and in the titles, as well as in the tones of their pronunciation. This book, like the other eight, are woven energies, really.

And meditation and prayer are necessary, I believe, to appreciate them fully; them, or any of Selig’s work. See Paul work in the flesh and you’ll see why. “Toning” the book, or voicing the book with others, seems to work everywhere, because his book’s are not mental trips. Thinking seems to get in the way, and the guides say so.

If “The rising of the Christ that has come as each of you” is not the primary subject of the book Alchemy, it is most likely the subject of all nine. And Alchemy is as good a Selig book as any to launch a higher Self, provided you are willing.

As all the books of Paul Selig's published before, “Alchemy” has taken me further into a better understanding and awareness of the omnipresent Divine, who is in fact expressing as me.
Fear, worries, anxiety, greed, pride have become obsolete. The teachings of the Guides are beyond any religious concepts and highly beneficial when searching for the perennial truth.

Paul’s work took a little while to get used to initially. I often have to go back and reread or re-listen to grasp the new vision, but I have followed his work for years now and read all of the books and am astounded at how deeply they have changed my view of almost everything I have believed. This book is a true gem. I found Paul Selig through a small advertisement on a Facebook page. I am so very grateful for this serendipitous meeting. As I began to listen to a video the teachings he channels of a group Of wise beings he calls simply " the Guides" I felt the truth of the words in my body. I am extremely cautious about choosing my spiritual teachers, and I vet each one as thoroughly as I can to be sure I am not being misled. Everything I have heard and read from Paul Selig's work rings true for me in every possible way. Alchemy is the first of Paul's books which I am reading cover to cover. It is filled with wise, loving, practical and quite straightforward guidance. The reader is given a recipe for peaceful, joyful living. It is so simple yet so difficult sometimes to actually practice. Learn to love oneself. Once you truly understand your fundamentally loving and innocent nature, it follows naturally that you begin to view others in a different light- simply as fellow travellers on this journey, no better or worse than oneself . A very simple, ages-old teaching to love others as you would wish to be loved just makes plain sense, and yet how many of us struggle to really do this.
Somehow, through the kind of work shared in this beautiful book, Alchemy, it becomes , not only possible, but just begins to happen. Without sounding rhapsodic , I can say that for me personally reading this book has changed me for the better. I simply hope to be a good person and to respect others . This book and the Guides' teachings outline how to do this and in doing so, how to raise the spirits and energy of others, which has a ripple effect that is potentially never ending.
In summary, I find this book to be profoundly comforting and empowering. I highly, highly recommend reading it if you are looking to awaken to the truth of who and what you are.
