FORT WORTH, Texas – The Horned Frogs claimed their third National Championship in program history and freshman Kristen Hemphill took home the Individual National Title in Air Rifle on the final day of competition in Morgantown, W.Va. 
 
All told, four of five national championship trophies awarded are headed back to Fort Worth. The Horned Frogs took home the smallbore team title, while sophomore Elizabeth Marsh shot her way to the individual smallbore title.
 
TCU has now won the national title in 2010, 2012 and 2019. Additionally, Hemphill became the first Horned Frog to claim an individual title in air rifle. 
 
Freshman Angeline Henry also competed in the air rifle finals and finished as the national runner-up. She went back and forth with Hemphill throughout the final. The Horned Frog duo were the last two competitors standing with identical scores of 227.9. On the final two shots Hemphill fired a 9.8 and 10.5 giving her a total of 248.2, while Henry shot a 9.4 and 10.6 (247.9).
 
In qualifying Hemphill and Henry paced the Frogs with scores of 593. Teammates Marsh and Casey Lutz both followed, firing scores of 592 and 590, respectively. Senior Rachel Garner posted a score of 586 in her final collegiate match.
 
The Frogs tied Air Force in air rifle with a score of 2,368. Similar to smallbore, the tiebreaker was determined based on center shots where the Falcons held a 181-171 advantage. TCU earned the national runner-up title as a team in the discipline.
 
The top two individuals in the match were members of the TCU squad. Marsh fired an aggregate score of 1,180 and Hemphill shot a 1,177.
