Trollope delighted with new signings

Bristol Rovers have completed the signing of striker Darryl Duffy from Swansea City for around £100,000.

The 23-year-old Scot has crossed the Severn Bridge to the Memorial Stadium after being told by Swansea that he is surplus to requirements.

Duffy only joined the Swans 12 months ago in a £200,000 switch from Hull and had two years left on his contract.

But he failed to hold down a first-team place and find the goalscoring form he showed during an earlier loan spell.

Duffy told Rovers' website: "I think coming here is something I had to do to stand a chance of playing first-team football on a regular basis, hopefully I can establish myself here and do well.

"The biggest factor in my move was that I just wanted to play football, I'm not interested in sitting in the stands."
