FLINT, MI -- The people at GoFundMe are promising to give a $10,000 contribution to the campaign on the crowd funding site that raises the most money to aid in Flint's water crisis.
GoFundMe announced the contest on its Facebook page on Friday, Jan. 22. The post states the crowd funding site is launching the contest to help raise money for the Flint water crisis. The campaign set up to provide clean water to Flint residents that raises the most money between 6 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22 through 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29 will receive the $10,000 contribution from GoFundMe.
The GoFundMe website has a link on its front page that reads "Held provide safe drinking water to the people of Flint, Michigan."
There are currently 61 active campaigns seeking to raise funds for Flint residents affected by the water crisis. On Saturday there has been $199,672 raised by 68 campaigns from 5,027 donors, according to the site.
