BSFA Awards 2023: Longlist Nomination
Eligibility to nominate

You must be a member of the British Science Fiction Association in order to take part in award nominations and voting. 

You need to provide your email and postcode associated with your BFSA membership to verify your eligibility (your details will not be used for any other purpose). 

You can edit your form. A link is sent to your email once you've submitted your form.

Year of eligibility for nomination

The year of eligibility is the same year that longlist nominations open, so only works published in 2023 are eligible (though there is flexibility for delays in publication etc). 

If in doubt, submit your nomination and it will be reviewed by the BFSA Awards Officer for eligibility

Section 1:
  • Short fiction
  • Shorter fiction
  • Translated shorter fiction
Section 2:
  • Novel
  • Fiction for younger readers
Section 3: Collections

Section 4: Original audio fiction

Section 5: Art

Section 6:
  • Short non-fiction
  • Longer non-fiction
Number of nominations

You can nominate up to 4 works per category. 

For inspiration, you can check the crowdsourced list of works for 2023. 

Nomination deadline

Nominations for the longlist close on 23:59 on 31 of December 2023.

Next steps

Members will be able to vote for the longlist in early 2024, the result which produces the short list for the BFSA awards. For further information, you can visit the BFSA website.
