Cardiopulmonary Point of Care Ultrasound

Abstract

Lung ultrasound is a useful and reliable tool in the assessment, triaging, and monitoring of patients with SARS CoV2 infection with COVID-19 pneumonia. The higher sensitivity of the modality compared to chest radiography has led to an increasing use by frontline clinicians at the bedside. Integrating LUS probability with the clinical suspicion would simplify the decision-making process, providing a clear guidance to the healthcare personnel allowing to rule-in or rule-out the possibility of COVID-19.
