Moroccan Cities Casablanca and Ouarzazate Join UNESCO's Creative Cities Network

The Moroccan cities of Casablanca and Ouarzazate have joined UNESCO’s Creative Cities Network on World Cities Day, as announced by the UN organization on Tuesday.

The two Moroccan cities, along with 53 others that have recently become part of the network, have been recognized for the significance they place on culture and creativity within their development strategies. UNESCO praised their innovative practices in human-centered urban planning in a press release.

Casablanca has been designated as a Creative City in the digital arts category, thanks to the numerous initiatives present there, while Ouarzazate has received the Creative City title in the Film category.
