Almost 900,000 Americans are missing out on valuable funds as they have yet to claim their 2020 tax refund. Taxpayers have until May 17 to file to recoup more than $1 billion in unclaimed refunds, the Internal Revenue Service announced.  Typically there is a three year deadline to claim refunds before the cash becomes property of the US Treasury. 

The Biden administration announced Wednesday that it has canceled $6 billion in student debt owed by those who attended the Art Institute chain of colleges across the US between January 2004 and October 2017. Numerous legal actions have accused the college of using 'pervasive' methods to entice students, including using one-time student Serena Williams ' multi-million dollar salary as a means to skew the average wage of alumni. 'This institution falsified data, knowingly misled students, and cheated borrowers into taking on mountains of debt without leading to promising career prospects at the end of their studies,' President Joe Biden said in a statement.

While they were traveling back to Los Angeles from Turks and Caicos recently, former GMA3 hosts T.J., 46, and Amy, 51, experienced a tense situation when someone else on board claimed he had taken her phone. Jay Leno and his wife of nearly 44 years, Mavis Nicholson Leno, enjoyed a date night at the Hollywood premiere of Netflix film Unfrosted on Tuesday - three weeks after an LA County Superior Court judge granted his conservatorship amid her dementia diagnosis. 'I feel great, yeah!' the 77-year-old philanthropist told ET on the red carpet. The former Tonight Show host added: 'Thought I'd come to something fun for a change. Everything is so controversial. Just to come to a funny, silly movie - it's great. I think people will have a great time. Well, we hang out every day. We have a great time. 44 years! So we're doing good.'

The Biden administration is considering allowing some Palestinians to come live in the United States as refugees. CBS News reported Tuesday that senior officials across several federal agencies have discussed how to resettle Palestinians from Gaza, potentially using the United States Refugee Admissions Program.

Former President Donald Trump has found out whether he will be able to go to his son Barron's graduation next month. The former president complained on the first day of the trial that he may be barred by Judge Juan Merchan from seeing 18-year-old Barron receive his diploma.

Columbia University's Hamilton Hall was left in a chaotic state after student occupiers were evicted following an NYPD raid on Tuesday night. The historic building was left with shattered windows, upended furniture and trash strewn across its halls. Around 40 activists were arrested on the first floor when the cops swooped in through a second floor window using an armored truck with a huge ramp to gain access. The maneuver was part of a wider operation to clear out pro-Palestine protesters from the Columbia campus after they repeatedly ignored calls to disband.

Chaos ensued deep into the night on campus at UCLA as pro and anti-Israel protesters clashed in scenes that devolved into 'all-out brawls' which also saw a firework thrown into a crowd of people. This mayhem mirrored scenes seen at college campuses across the country, including at Columbia University in New York City, where after activists ignored pleas to dismantle their camps, the police were forced to move in and arrest students. The violence at UCLA began when a group of pro-Israel activists showed up on campus with the intention of removing the anti-Israel and pro Palestine camp.

Jerry Seinfeld was joined by his family during the premiere of Unfrosted, which took place at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood on Tuesday evening. The 70-year-old comedian was accompanied by his wife Jessica, 52, as well as their daughter Sascha, 23, and sons Julian, 21, and Shepherd, 18, during his time on the red carpet of the event. The performer - who recently discussed the effects of the 'extreme left' on comedy - was also pictured next to a performer dressed up as a Pop-Tart and was unable to spare a ticket for the toaster pastry.

A small ranching community in Colorado has torn itself apart as newly-released wolves have butchered an astonishing amount of cattle in just days. Conway Farrell, a rancher from Grand County, about 30 minutes outside of the Rocky Mountains, said his father discovered a dead calf on Sunday, the fifth cattle lost in 11 days. Now, Farrell said tensions have risen between ranchers and Colorado Park and Wildlife officers in the town. 'We see them in the grocery store and everybody is sitting there trying to act fake and like we are all happy, yet what's going on behind the scenes every day is as disturbing as heck,' he said.

Solomon Galligan, 33, was caught on camera walking onto a field at Black Forest Hills Elementary School in Aurora, Colorado around 2:20 pm April 22, according to an affidavit from the Aurora police. In the surveillance footage, Galligan is seen walking up to the children in the field before the children fled yelling 'stranger danger' and alerted adults. Galligan was arrested for second-degree kidnapping. He is currently being held in the Arapahoe County jail under a $25,000 cash or surety bond.

New York District Attorney Sandra Doorley sent a brutal email to her colleagues just days before bodycam footage showed her berating cops who had caught her speeding. The Monroe County DA didn't hold back in the communication to fellow staffers, obtained by Democrat and Chronicle, when she outlined what she believed was working and what was not. This harsh communication style was familiar to former prosecutors who previously left the District Attorney's Office during Doorley's tenure, which began in 2011.

A new utopia-like community called City Campus is set to launched on Mat 11 in downtown San Francisco. It will allow people to 'live, eat and work' all within a 15-minute walk. The plan was created by four 'community builders', Patricia Mou, Thomas Schulz, Jason Benn and Adi Melamed. According to the nonprofit's website , the goals of the new urban space is for people to 'find and pursue you life's work, meet inspiring collaborators, live near friends, raise kids in community, do focused work and engage in civic and social life.'

The Danish royals shared the family portrait on their official Instagram page on Tuesday, which featured Queen Margrethe , 84, (front right) beside her two younger sisters Princess Benedikte, 80, (front centre) and Queen Anne Marie of Greece , 77. Gary Sokolov's father Lali, a Slovakian Jew, was forced to work as the tattooist at the Nazis' death camp in occupied Poland. It was in that role that he met his future wife Gita, when she stood before him terrified as he tattooed a number on her arm. Lali and Gita (top right, and bottom right with Gary) were separated in 1945 but found each other by chance after the war and went on to marry before having son Gary in 1961 following their emigration to Australia.

Footage shows the growling lion mounting the lioness as a group of tourists in South Africa watches on, with some covering their eyes while others whip out their phones to film the mating action going on above their heads. The drivers appear completely nonplussed while the jeep shakes from side to side as the lions get to business. But the tourists seem more impressed than the lioness, since she quickly fell onto her side while the lion was moving on top of her. He looks dejected as the chuckling tourists beneath them continue to film through the metal grille.

Now, she has once again sparked concern as she seems to have moved on from shopping at a 99 cents store to dumpster diving with a broken finger - pushing her cartful of goods around California before hitting up trash bins for items she could add to her collection.

The start of the Arizona Diamondbacks game against the Los Angeles Dodgers was delayed due to a bee colony swarming behind home plate, forcing seats in a few sections to be evacuated. The game was scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. local time in Phoenix, with a delay of more than 90 minutes to allow the bees to be successfully removed from the field of play. The delay also caused the Diamondbacks to change their starting pitcher for Tuesday's game. Jordan Montgomery was replaced by Brandon Hughes.
