Gilson Lázaro is Associate Professor in the Sociology Department at Agostinho Neto University and Research collaboration at the Center for African Studies at the Catholic University of Angola. He did his PhD and Master's at ISCTE-IUL, Portugal. In addition, he serves on the editorial board of the journal Travessia. He teaches Rural Sociology, the Sociology of Everyday Life, and the Sociology of Communication and Media. His research areas are: violence, reconciliation, urban and rural poverty, and the youth subculture of Hip-hop.
