William Klaber earned a Golden Reel Award nomination in 1993 for The RFK Tapes, a nationally broadcast, one-hour public radio documentary on the murder of Robert Kennedy. Klaber is a host on the new podcast of the same name, The RFK Tapes, which investigates one of the most significant crimes in American history and debuted at #1 on the iTunes chart.

Philip Melanson was a political science professor and the chair of the Robert Kennedy Assassination Archives at University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth. He died in 2006.

This book is a fantastically detailed account of the assassination of Robert F Kennedy back in 1968 and the subsequent trial of the gunman Sirhan Sirhan. What is worrying, is that there is so much apparent incompetence of the police and FBI with so many parallels to the events surrounding John Kennedy's killing in 1963 - namely missing witnesses, lost testimonies etc. Having read Mark Lane's (JFK) book, "Rush To Judgement" back in the late 1960's I could not believe that the American justice system was flawed to such an extent. "Shadow Play" is a worrying, sometimes unbelievable, account of RFK's shooting and subsequent trial. Thanks to Net Galley for a chance to read and review this book.

It was a very good real crime story. It shows that you can kill anybody in this country if they have enough enemies in power. The corruption of the LA police was known before this happened, but the facts show just how corrupt the justice system is.
