LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - If you have some Tyson brand ground beef in your freezer, check the date on it.

Tyson Fresh Meats is recalling 40 thousand pounds of ground beef in sixteen states, including Kentucky and Indiana.

A sample of the 80/20 Ground Beef Chuck tested positive for E. coli at the company's Nebraska plant.

No illnesses have been reported, and company officials said there should not be as long as the meat is handled and cooked properly.

Symptoms of E. coli include diarrhea, abdominal cramping and vomiting.

The affected meat was produced October 24th of this year and has a "best before, or freeze by" date of November 13.
