[ Story ]

A re-make of an adolescent fantasy, Goodbye Me, by Obayashi Nobuhiko himself for the first time in 25 years, portraying a teenage boy and a girl who switch into each other's body by accident. The setting is moved from Onomichi to Shinsyu, and the re-make poses a question of life and death as well as the meaning of life.
Upon his parents' divorce, Kazuo (Morita Naoyuki) leaves Onomichi and transfers to a school in Nagano where he spent his childhood. There he is re-united with his childhood friend Kazumi (Renbutsu Misako), and the two go to "Sabishira Spring", a place which holds fond memories. The two fall into the water by accident, but crawl out of the water and go home, without realizing that their body and soul have swapped. They are surprised by the reflection of themselves in the mirror, but neither family believes their claim. Left with no choice, they decide to live, Kazumi as Kazuo and Kazuo as Kazumi. Just as they begin to carry on with lives shoulder to shoulder, a change occurs to Kazuo's body (in fact, Kazumi's).
