Soviet deaths in the Great Patriotic War: a note

Eur Asia Stud. 1994;46(4):671-80. doi: 10.1080/09668139408412190.

Abstract

PIP: The authors attempt a synthesis of recent research in the USSR and post-Soviet Russia on Soviet mortality during World War II. They conclude that the official estimate adopted since 1990 of 26 to 27 million deaths is probably accurate, and note that most of the Soviet citizens who died were civilians.
