WRITTEN,RECORDED & PRODUCED BY GODFLESH '97 - '99
VISUALS BY GODFLESH
"finally 'us & them' was completed early '99 after nearly 2 years of work on the record.obviously it was'nt 2 years solid, but a more comfortable working
process,recording/mixing when it felt right to the us,as opposed to the more 'conventional' process of recording in one tightly confined period, and, mixing in another tight period shortly after ; this record was given time to breathe and evolve over time, this process did'nt always work postively, but what does.consequently the material changed frequently, and, always seemed to get closer to the desired vision for the band.probably more so than previous records due to this approach.musically the album covers more ground in one record than any of the previous godflesh albums ; its heavier, more psychedelic, more fucked up,more breakbeat driven...everything godflesh has ever
been, but magnified and doubled.everything i have been doing on the peripherel of gflesh has finally manifiested itself in one mutated form or another into this album....its inevitable really, considering how much i do musically outside of gflesh.there are no live drums on this album,so theres no ted parsons, but, ted will appear on the dub counterpart to 'us & them' (to be released later this year, just before the millenium) and will appear live with the band where possible.
the album has a running time of 64 mins.the closing track 'live to lose' was intended as a bonus track, but since earache don't appear to be supporting the vinyl format anymore then 'live to lose' will be seen as a regular album track.it was intended as a bonus track due to the fact that it was a gflesh track that was recorded in '95 and was shelved during the period for one reason or another that cannot even be recalled now.we came across the track accidentally on a cassette and decided it was appropriate for the album.lyrically 'us & them' is the same old broadrick shit(!)despair, lust, frustration, emptiness, love, hate, resignation, jealousy, purity, worship, greed etc...no need for details since the lyrics will be printed inside the sleeve.we may have some clips in real audio on the avalanche page shortly before release,if we are allowed by the powers that be.touring details
will be confirmed soon"  J K BROADRICK  april,'99.

EXCLUSIVE REAL AUDIO FILES
On a rotational basis we will have whole songs here in Real Audio format.
We will have an exclusive and rare song appearing here on a regular basis ; a song may be available here for approx. 2 weeks.
Then will be replaced by another track due to bandwidth considerations. The tracks that appear here will be in their entire length.
FALL OF BECAUSE clips will also appear here in time.
The current song is 'ABSORBER'.This track GODFLESH did for 'Mortal Kombat 2',it was rejected for not being "techno metal enough" !
It is basically 'WAKE' from 'Songs of love & hate',minus the original guitar and vocal parts, and featuring no technology.
A remix of 'HUNTER' from 'Songs of...' was also executed for  'Mortal K.2' and was rejected on the same grounds as 'ABSORBER'.
We will soon feature this mix here too,as this mix was not included on 'Love & hate in dub'.
'ABSORBER' was mixed early '96.Line up :
JK Broadrick-Guitar,vocals  /  Brian Mantia-Drums  /  GC Green-Bass
