Popular Hi-5 performer Kathleen de Leon and her musician husband Daniel Jones have had a baby girl.
Mikayla de Leon Jones was born on Wednesday weighing five pounds, nine ounces (2.44 kg). She is the couple's first child.
"Mum and baby are happy and healthy," said a spokeswoman for the couple.
"Dad is over the moon."
The 28-year-old took maternity leave from
Hi-5 in April to prepare for the birth.
Earlier this year, de Leon and Jones, formally of the Australian pop band Savage Garden, moved from Brisbane to Sydney to be closer to de Leon's family.
In June the children's performer told AAP she was intent on rejoining Tim Harding, Charli Robinson, Nathan Foley and Kellie Hoggart in Hi-5 in the future.
Sun Park, 24, is de Leon's temporary replacement until she returns.
"It is not a permanent thing but I have never had a child before, so I have no inkling on when my body is going to be ready to go back to work," she said.
De Leon met Jones at the 2000 Logie awards and the pair wed in a beachside ceremony on Queensland's Gold Coast in October 2005.
