Camping Park

Hillend does not take advance bookings for the campsite.

The campsite consists of four fields totalling 14 acres of level meadow which can accommodate up to 300 tents and motor homes. Two of the fields are for families and couples only, and all are within 200m of the magnificent Rhossili Bay.

"One of the 25 best beaches in the world." (The Sunday Times - 2006)

There is a vibrant feel to the site and although we are not 'families only', we are careful as to who we let onto the park. Well-behaved youngsters are welcome, but we generally only accept under-16's with parental supervision, and groups numbering more than 10 by prior arrangement. Our policy in this respect has, "[...] resulted in a site that offers a more amenable, grown up experience, whilst successfully retaining its relaxed, surf-cool heritage." (Cool Camping Guide - 2007)

Hillend Campsite

The facilities at Hillend are continually being improved and are, we believe, second to none on any campsite on Gower.

"One of the finest amenities blocks on any Welsh campsite." (Cool Camping Guide - 2007)

The improvements carried out in recent years are probably one of the reasons Hillend was listed in 2006 as one of the 'Top 10 UK Campsites' in both The Times and The Observer. The site was also featured in The Guardian in 2007.

The proximity of the beach makes it an ideal location for all water sports enthusiasts, in particular canoeists, windsurfers, anglers, and especially surfers.

"One of the 10 classic surfing beaches." (The Guardian - 2007)
"The best place to learn to surf in Britain." (The Observer - 2006)

But Hillend isn't just about the beach...

"The appeal of this location is more than just the beach, the surf and the Gower landscape. It's more than the sum of its constituent parts. There's an inexplicable pull about this part of the peninsula that has a deep and lasting effect on visitors." (Cool Camping Guide - 2007)

Leave the campsite and explore the breathtaking Gower coastline along the peninsula's comprehensive footpath network. But remember to be back before the sun goes down...

"One of the top romantic spots on the country." (The Guardian - 2007)
"The best place in the UK to watch the sun set." (Country Living Magazine - 2005)

Open from April 1st to October 31st

Please note that the campsite is strictly dog free.
