Nightlife

Planning a night out with your mates? Swansea's night scene won't disappoint!

BARS & PUBS

No Sign Wine Bar

Where do we start? The oldest pubs in Swansea date back to the 18th Century and little has changed since. The Cross Keys (St Mary St, opp. the church) and the No Sign Bar (Wind St) still attract regular crowds thanks to their fantastic atmosphere and good food menus.

Wind Street has more trendy outlets that you can shake a (cocktail) stick at. It is the place to be ... and to be seen in Swansea! Start at the top in the ever-popular Walkabout (Oz bar) and Yates, and work your way down Swansea's famous Cafe Quarter including some of our all-time favourites: Pitcher & Piano, Revolution, Bar Co (live music, DJs), Idols, the saucy Ice Bar (pole dancing anyone?), the super trendy Bar Seven (for celebrity spotting), the Adelphi for karaoke, La Prensa Wine Bar and the funky Lava Lounge. All this within 500 yards!

Mumbles (5 miles from Swansea City Centre) also has a great selection of pubs. Look out for The White Rose as you first come into the village and the trendy Salt @ The George. Some of the more traditional drinking haunts include the Hancock, Antelope and Village Inn.

CLUBS

The Kingsway is Swansea's undisputed clubbing hotspot. Start with a cocktail at the hip & trendy Cafe Mambo before boogying the night away at Jumpin Jaks, Flares, Sin City and the new Oceana complex. Just across the road, Escape boasts performances from some of the top DJs in Wales.

Salubrious Place at the bottom of Wind St boasts ubercool club 'Play', located just opposite the Lava Lounge.

Even Mumbles boasts its own nightclub in the shape of ever-popular Bentleys, opposite The White Rose.

GAY NIGHTLIFE

It's all happening on High St, just a few minutes walk from lively Wind St - take your pick from Champers, The Kings Arms Tavern or Hush. There's also The Exchange on The Strand, which runs parallel to Wind St.

LIVE MUSIC

Uplands, just outside the City Centre, is a good haunt for live music amateurs. Head for the ultra-popular Uplands Tavern (aka the 'Tav') or The Chattery, just across the road. City Centre venues include Monkey Cafe (High St), The Office (Castle Square), No Sign Bar (Wind St) and The Strand.
