SHE has worked as a Hi-5 puppeteer and understudy for many months but now Tanika Anderson is set to take centre stage with the group.
The Sydney performer has been chosen as the newest member of the children’s act and she will replace outgoing member Lauren Brant at the end of the band’s current tour.
“This is just everything I’ve always wanted — I love travelling, my life wouldn’t be complete without it, and I love kids and singing and dancing,” 20-year-old Anderson told Confidential.
But she said even in working with the band behind-the-scenes she was surprised by the intensity of the job.
“It’s so much more challenging, but more rewarding, than I expected it to be,” she said.
Brant, who is leaving to focus on her ‘loliboli’ clothing range, will do an onstage handover to Anderson at the end of the band’s current tour.
The Hi-5 House Hits tour is taking place at venues across Sydney in late June and early July, in locations including Chatswood and Enmore.
