The land upon which the stadium was constructed was owned by Cardiff City Council. In 1932, with difficult financial circumstances facing the Club, efforts were made to construct a greyhound track in the ground but this scheme failed after meeting opposition from the City Council, greyhound racing authorities, and the Football Association of Wales. The stadium was demolished in October 2009 and had a seating capacity of 22,000.
