Detroit Metropolitan Airport is No. 1 in customer satisfaction for airports of its size, according to J.D. Power.
In its annual North America Airport Satisfaction Study, J.D. Power gave DTW — which had over 35 million passengers travel through its two terminals last year — a customer satisfaction score of 786 out of 1000, making it 2019's top-ranked mega airport for customer satisfaction.
“It is a great honor for DTW to be the number one ranked mega airport in the country for customer satisfaction,” Wayne County Airport Authority CEO Chad Newton said in a press release.
Earlier this week, U.S. Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao announced that the Federal Aviation Administration will award $986 million in airport infrastructure grants.
As a part of the program, $12.38 million will be allocated to taxi reconstruction at DTW.
“This significant investment in airport improvements in Michigan will fund construction and rehabilitation projects that will help maintain high levels of safety in U.S. aviation,” said Chao.
