GOLD Coast glamour girl Lauren Brant has opened up about her decision to leave the Aussie children’s entertainment phenomenon Hi-5 which made her an international star.

The 25-year-old announced her decision on Twitter two weeks ago and will farewell the supergroup after a national tour next month.

However, she will not be jobless for long.

The stunning brunette (her hair is dyed red for Hi-5) is keen to try other projects in the entertainment industry and has a growing fashion business.

Relaxing at her Gold Coast apartment — she has just moved back to the Tourist Strip after six years in Sydney — Brant said she was comfortable with her decision to call time on Hi-5 and revealed she made her mind up last year.

“I knew there was going to be a time to leave and I thought I would just feel it when it was the right time to go and that’s exactly what happened,” she said.

“I actually made the decision last July, but it’s not a quick transition to just leave because we have fans all over the world.

“I know I’ll definitely be sad after I finish but it’s time for other things.”

One of those things will be working on her growing fashion label Loliboli.

Clothing runs in the bloodline — her family owns the BLK sportswear label.

Loliboli, named after Brant’s childhood nickname, has a different audience in mind, aimed at the young girls who make up much of Hi-5’s fan base.

“I’ve had six years to research the target market,” Brant said.

While her fashion business will keep her busy, the bubbly Gold Coaster hopes to continue performing, perhaps jumping into presenting. She also had some words for her Hi-5 replacement: “It’s the most amazing journey. Get ready for the ride of your life.”
