An advertisement aired in California, USA during the annual Super Bowl event that highlighted the farmers' protests that have been going on since November in India. What is the Super Bowl event? It is the championship game of the NFL.

As per a report in Reuters, about 100 million viewers were expected to tune in on CBS to watch the game between Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs. Tampa won 31-9.

While it is not clear who paid for the advertisement or if it was aired in other states of the country, it did have a clear message. The ad is 30 seconds long and starts with a quote belonging to none other than Martin Luther King Jr.

It calls the protest against the three new contentious farm reform laws as the "largest protest in history". It also ends with the message to India that 'we stand with you'.

A large number of farmers, mainly from the states of Punjab and Haryana have been protesting. There have been multiple rounds of talks with the Centre but till now it's in deadlock.

The protests had led to violent clashes with police on Republic Day. Several famous international personalities like Rihanna and Greta Thunberg have come out in favour of the farmers, leading to both online support and backlash.
