Brooklyn Nets fans took offense to the "Kyrie sucks" chants at TD Garden Wednesday during the Boston Celtics 121-110 victory and clapped back with a chant of their own Friday.
While Kemba Walker was at the free-throw line during the first quarter of action in New York, Nets' fans unsurprisingly broke out a "Kyrie's better" chant.
While Irving may be statistically better than Walker, the Celtics underachieved last season before Irving left in free agency.
With Walker, the C's are 13-5 as of Friday afternoon and are clicking on all levels. So far this season, Boston is averaging 112.4 points per game while shooting 46.5 percent from the field and 36.5 percent from beyond the arc. Through the 2017-18 campaign, the C's averaged 104 points per game while shooting 45 percent from the field and 37.7 percent from three-point range.
Through 17 games, Walker is averaging 22.3 points, 4.6 assists and 4.7 rebounds. Last season with the Celtics, Irving averaged 23.8 points, 6.9 assists and 5 rebounds per game.
Like we said above, Irving may be better on the stat sheet but Walker is a great team player and much better fit in Boston.
