Effective and Humane Pest Deterrents

Tired of critters wreaking havoc in your yard? Are they eating or destroying your garden, flowers, or other yard vegetation? The Yard Enforcer is a motion-activated sprinkler that combines sound, water, motion and ingenuity as a defense to one of your most precious assets: your landscape. They deter deer, birds, cats, dogs, skunks, opossums, and other similar pests and animals without hurting them.

Deters:

  • Deer
  • Dogs
  • Cats
  • Large Birds
  • Skunks
  • Rabbits
  • Raccoons and more!

Three Detection Modes

The exclusive Detection Mode feature allows you to control when the Yard Enforcer is activated. You can use them only during daylight hours, or, for protection 24/7, select the ‘always on’ mode. Only want to protect the yard at night so it doesn’t spray human visitors during the day? The ‘night only' mode will do just that.

Expandable Spray Zone

The Yard Enforcer has the ability to increase the water enforcement area by connecting additional impact sprinklers (sold separately), via the dual flow-through ports controlled by the valve. Another option is to increase the protected zone with additional Enforcers that can be linked together through the flow-through outlet.

Superior Coverage

The powerful infrared sensor can detect intruders from up to 40 feet away (up to 20 feet for small animals) and has a wide viewing angle of 120 degrees, that’s 1600 square feet of protective coverage from a single unit.

One Smart Sensor

The Yard Enforcer has a passive infrared motion sensor that detects animals from up to 40 feet away, even at night, to give you maximum protection, and its intelligent sensing technology learns the difference between animals and tree limbs blowing in the wind to prevent overwatering.

Adjustable Line of Sight

Position the sensor and sprinkler in the direction of where the pest enters the yard to chase them away before they reach the plants and landscaping you are protecting. The sensor unit can be angled down for smaller animals, or angled up for larger animals and birds.

Doubles as a Sprinkler

The Yard Enforcer has a 30-minute watering cycle that enables it to function as a timed sprinkler. Protect the yard without the hassle of having to switch out the Enforcers for a sprinkler every time the lawn or garden needs watering.

The Yard Enforcer has the most product features on the market, making it by far the best animal deterrent.

I thought the joke was going to be on my skunk but it turned out to be on me.
3 Stars
I thought the joke was going to be on my skunk but it turned out to be on me.
I have a skunk that is trying to adopt me. Since I didn't want to hurt the little fellow, the idea of the Yard Enforcer really appealed to my sense of a ethical solution to the situation. With a sudden noise and a little squirt of water each night, I expected him to seek his fortune else where. So I sprung for the Orbit Yard Enforcer.I thought Orbit, It's a big name company. They have been around a long time. They build all kinds of advanced yard watering products. I can trust them. I am sure they will build a reliable quality product. I can depend on Orbit to deliver a product that works as advertised. Orbit won't over hype some piece of junk product just to snag a few fast bucks like some vendors. Well it doesn't seem to have worked out that way for me at all. What could I have been thinking? I guess the joke is on me. I am such an idiot.Their advertisement for this product states "The heat and motion-activated sensor detects movement from up to 40 feet away and triggers the valve to spray a burst of water." It might detect a charging elephant or rhinoceros 40 feet away but for humans the best we could squeeze out of it was about 20' (sometimes) and 12'-15' (reliably) depending on whether it was day or night, the adjustment of the range sensitivity control, the height of the IR sensor, and the vertical angle of the IR sensor. During the day when the sun was high about 12-1pm in no wind conditions, the unit will just activate for no apparent reason about every 10 minutes. I am guessing the heat and bright light triggers it.Day or night, small animals don't seem to trigger it until they are within 1-3 feet of the sensor. Using only fresh batteries, I lowered the sensor and tried every angle available on the locking vertical adjustment knob. Along with multiple tests using the full adjustment range of the IR sensor sensitivity control. It makes you wonder what is the actual IQ of their " INTELLIGENT SENSING TECHNOLOGY:"On my attached video, the Yard Enforcer is to the left just barely out of view because I wanted to catch the skunk's full reaction to the sudden burst of water. Judge for youself, do you think this should be enough motion to get a yard enforcer going? When he stops to chew his fleas, he is right in the center of the IR sensor's sweet spot which is about 10 feet away. This yard enforcer/skunk ballet has been going on for 5 nights. My trail camera's motion sensor catches the skunk action. It was cheaper than the Yard Enforcer. It has a IR sensor, Full color 24 MP camera for stills and videos, full night vision, water proof case, IR light bank, USB interface, SD card... You would think for the price of the Yard Enforcer, they could deliver a sprinkler that turns on and off when the skunk walks by.I don't doubt that a bear, deer, cow or horse would get the yard enforcer attention. Just don't count on the parts about a skunk, dog, cat, bird, rabbit or raccoons. Funny, they didn't mention squirrels.

After trying many different ways to deter the herd of deer that have chewed up my yard this is the only product that has worked and they remember it and have yet to come back. It also is a humane way of getting them off the property. I have done smelly liquids, motion detectors with noise and lights, fishing line fencing and the deer figured all of them out. But one good squirt was all it took to chase them away. In fact we liked this so much we bought another one locally for the other side of the yard. I just hope that in the winter time they remember the experience and don't come back for my yard/salad bar. It also worked on a cat, squirrels, and a rabbit. The only thing that would make it better would be an app to manually set it off or perhaps better sensitivity with the motion detecting. Great product and worth the money.

We live in a rural setting w/ a large 1260 ft garden & have problems every year with wildlife getting into it & eating up all our hard work. We have deer, groundhogs, raccoons, rabbits, squirrels, possum, & gophers that like to break in & munch on everything. We were losing entire harvests of some items, losing hundreds of $ in food. We started out w/ 6 ft deer fencing- great for the deer for most of the season for the most part (they would stalk it & some would still jump it towards the end of the season) but everything else could immediately chew easily through. So we added 3 ft chicken wire around it as well- great for the rabbits, but everything else could still find a way in. So we added re-bar through the chicken wire all around the border to help keep the more stubborn animals from prying it up and/or bending it over & still chewing through the deer fencing- worked for most of the rest of the animals EXCEPT for the stubborn groundhogs- they would stalk & test the fence every single day, pulling & prying at it & digging to find spaces between the rebar & eventually would always find at least one way in, if not several. And of course in the meantime the gophers could easily dig under regardless. So we got sonic gopher spikes. Seemed to help somewhat for them, but not completely. SO that's when we finally invested in one of these to add to the arsenal. This works like a charm on deer! If they even get close to the fencing, they get sprayed. After getting sprayed a few times, they recognize the sound of the mechanism/trigger, & that alone will spook them before the spray even starts. And then they end up remembering & actually avoiding the trigger areas altogether- we've had ZERO problem with deer since purchasing this. The motion sensor has a harder time 'seeing' the shorter animals as far away as taller animals, so it takes some time & adjustment to find the right height & distance combo coverage when you are trying to protect the area from multiple types of animals of varying size, which just takes some patience- we love how highly adjustable the product is, you just have to find your personal sweet spot for it. Since our garden is large & rectangle, we decided to get a 2nd one for more thorough coverage of both far sides. We're glad we did! While we still have issues w/ groundhogs sometimes-- they are by far the most stubborn animal, & being low to the ground, at peak season when garden foliage is nice & full, it is easier for them to evade detection by the motion sensor, plus they don't 'learn' not to come back later after being sprayed like the deer do, so they'll get sprayed, run away, then come back a few hours later sometimes-- but these sprayers still have helped IMMENSELY. Most years we have been able to pull in around $2000 worth of fruits & vegetables, when we were losing up to around 1/3 of that before adding these sprayers to our arsenal. They are very motion sensitive, so it takes some adjusting to find your right level of sensitivity for them, & we found that on a very windy day we need to just turn them off or they go off constantly regardless, but it has been something that we've just learned to become mindful of, & the benefit of having them far outweighs any negatives. We also love the 30 minute watering cycle option during dry spells during the heat of summer. Very convenient, as I was spending hours out there watering before we had them! I also appreciate the height & distance adjustments to really customize it to fit the area you need it for. Customer service is also great! We had a problem with some gaskets on our first one breaking while still inside the warranty, & they sent us another one with no hassles. All in all, highly recommend this product! The only improvement I could think of would be to offer an even taller model to improve it's 'sight' coverage, since gardens have varying heights & rows of vegetation necessary to 'see' over top of in order to protect. But otherwise, no complaints!

All but two of my several year old Contech brand water scarecrows died this year. Over past three weeks, I ordered to Contechs in a row that use 9V batteries, then one newer model that uses four rechargeable double AAs that are charged by solar panel. I had to return ALL THREE, because none of them would work reliably. That would dry click when tested after putting battery in, and maybe spray once or twice when I walked in front of crow to test. Then they simply would never work again. No matter what settings I tried. So I bought this Orbit, and am glad I did, because my tomatoes are ripening, and because one of the three crows was missing, I had some deer damage one night. The Orbit assembled easily (a little force is required to pull the battery tray out, just pull hard), worked the first time, and now for third morning as I go around to turn crows off, I test it by approaching it, and at 20-25 feet, it fires off. Every time. So, go read the reviews of the old Contech crows. You will find MANY accumulating from buyers who had the same problem. Also, the one with solar issued return authorization, but I had to pay the return postage. Will never buy from them again, for sure. And, I am still waiting for my credit card to be reimbursed for that order. I hope I do not have to escalate to Amazon. Anyway, buy the Orbit if you do not want to waste your time with crows that do not work, and also have a support phone numbers that simply never answers, no matter how long you sit on hold waiting.

UPDATE: After several weeks of use, I remain satisfied that purchasing this item was a good decision. It always worked, whereas two versions of the latest Contach crows simply refused to work out of the box. Next year, I will probably buy two more, so I have three of these to surround my tomatoes with. Because heavy repeated rains had wiped out the tomatoes two weeks ago, but fortunately after I had harvested most, and made lots of tomato sauce for the winter spaghetti, I turned them off. Yesterday, we found that the deer had come into the garden, and cropped all the beet greens, which was OK, I dug up two pails of red and golden beets which were ready to harvest. The deer had NEVER TOUCHED the beet greens during main growing season, because the crows kept them out.

I note some people claim these work against small critters. This has NOT been my experience. Perhaps my setting them on posts four feet off the ground made the difference, but rabbits, squirrels, and chipmunks dance through my garden and ignore the crows. From prior experience with squirrels, I set up a crow one foot above ground pointed at my apple tree. The squirrels just laughed, and looted the tree anyway. So I do not count on these crows for small critters. But without them, the deer would destroy my tomatoes, greens, lettuce, and beets.

5.0 out of 5 stars It takes its job very seriously. Maybe too much.

We picked this up to fight the racooons who kept visiting the backyard to dig up our lawns for fun, or for food I don't know it doesn't matter. We tried using other scent based repellents and that only worked for as long as the scent lasted so that's no good.

This was an extremely expensive investment so I had high expectations. At its core it's a very simple product: a sprinkler with a built in motion sensor (technically heat sensor so it won't spray at swaying trees or falling leaves). You can adjust the sensor range, as well the the spray duration (up to 10s), range (long jet or wide spray), and coverage (up to 360°, but why?)

The sensor's coverage is roughly 180°, and at the longest range, it'll trigger from about 20-25 feet away and pelt you with water fast enough that you won't get away unless you knew it was coming. There are 3 modes: day, night, and always.

I find the night mode, which is what we use for the racooon guard duty, is overly sensitive so it will go off even on a cloudy day or in the shade in late afternoon. This is a bit of a problem since it makes the yard a bit of a landmine zone when you just want to take a stroll in it.

It does otherwise an admirable job and most importantly kept the racoons away since it was installed. It also has a 30 minute watering mode which is helpful if you want to use it like a regular sprinkler. We actually bought a second one just to get full coverage of our yard since the racoons initially just moved to dig up the other side of the yard outside the initial one's range.

Again, it's very expensive. But it does its job well, if maybe a bit too eager to spray.

1.0 out of 5 stars No vale la pena

En mi caso, considero que no vale la pena. Su precio es muy elevado para la eficiencia del mismo. El sensor es muy flojo. Para que detecte el movimiento y se actuve, tiene que estar el gato prácticamente al lado. No detecta a distancia.

La calidad del material es bueno pero la detección es mala.

1.0 out of 5 stars Sensore poco rilevante
