How do I keep my ChemDraw Professional license from expiring?

Answer

I. If you are using ChemDraw Professional Site Subscription on Windows or MacOS:
You need to reactivate with your existing serial number. Reactivating will extend your current software's license to the next renewal date.

  1. To reactivate, launch the ChemDraw application and click 'Activate' on the 'Help' menu then put in your serial number (it shows up automatically if you originally activated on the same machine).
  2. Click on 'Activate over the Internet' to complete the activation. If that fails (because you don't have an Internet connection) then you can activate by phone, fax, or email to receive an activation code.
  3. The software will display a warning message one month before the previous expiration date, and you can close that window then click 'Activate' on the 'Help' menu.
  4. If your software has already expired, you will be immediately prompted to activate when you launch ChemDraw.

II. If you are using older version of ChemOffice/ChemDraw on Windows or MacOS:
You may either upgrade to a new version, or may keep using your older version by reactivating with your existing serial number. Reactivating will extend your current software's license to the next renewal date.

  1. To reactivate, launch the ChemOffice/ChemDraw application and click 'Activate' on the 'Help' menu then put in your serial number (it shows up automatically if you originally activated on the same machine).
  4. If your software has already expired, you will be immediately prompted to activate when you launch ChemDraw Professional.
  5. Alternatively, you may upgrade to a new version now or anytime, by re-downloading (and getting a new serial number).

III. If you need to obtain your ChemDraw Professional Site Subscription Activation Code
If your Activation Code is not automatically appearing in the Software Activation dialog box, you will need to obtain the Activation Code from your personal download account on PerkinElmer's site.

  1. Go to https://informatics.perkinelmer.com/sitesubscription/
  2. Search for "Georgetown University" in the Search for Institution box.
  3. Follow the link to register to download the latest version of ChemDraw
  4. You will be prompted to register as a user. As you previously downloaded ChemDraw, you should already have a personal account. Click the "Click here to login" link.
  5. Log in using your personal credentials. Note: this account is not linked to your standard NetID login credentials. The username and/or password may be different depending on how you originally set up this account.
  6. Once you have signed in, you will be taken to the "List Entitlements" page. Find the row with the current order number (Entitlement ID column) and note the activation code in the Product Activation column.
    1. The activation code can also be found after clicking the "Download Now" link - it will be highlighted in yellow toward the top of the page.
