The Rising was planted in September of 2019 by David and Samantha Layne, and a couple families in the Nashville area. God had placed a vision within the Layne family to plant a church that fully lives out Ephesians 4 to equip the saints of the church. They have a heart for the city of Nashville, and wanted to reach the people of Nashville for the Gospel of Jesus. We as a church are committed to making disciples and raising up strong believers of Jesus to be sent out into the world to glorify God. 

The Rising was launched offering services on Thursday nights at The Grace Place in Hermitage. We would soon found a new location at the Southwestern Building in Nashville and move worship services to Sundays. Then after a little over a year at Southwestern our current location opened up for us to do ministry during the week, and not just Sundays.  We continue to grow as a body of believers and are excited about what God has in store for The Rising. 

Our vision at The Rising is to see people raised to life through Christ, and equipped for the glory of God. We pray that you would partner with us and grow with us to make this vision a reality!

Equip is the RAISE portion of our mission. We want to see people grow in their knowledge of the Gospel. It is important for us to prepare to go out in the world and know how to make a disciple. Equip is a way for us to grow our church to empower you for ministry. Whether you plan to plant a church or lead a small group at our local business Equip is a way to prepare you to lead the way God wants you to lead.
