Simplest may be to download the disk diagnostic tools from the disk manufacturer's web site.

Start by running chkdsk to validate the file system.

Next check to see if the drive needs defragmented.

Then use Device Manage to identify the hardware manufacturer. Download the diagnostic tools from your vendor's website. Use those tools to test the hardware.

Western Digital is a common drive vendor.

    Hello.

To check the health of your hard disk in Windows Server, you can use the built-in tool called "Disk Management". Here are the steps:

    1. Open the "Disk Management" tool by typing "diskmgmt.msc" in the Run dialog box (press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box).
    2. In the Disk Management window, locate the disk you want to check. You can identify the disk by its size and drive letter.
    3. Right-click on the disk and select "Properties".
    4. In the Properties window, go to the "Tools" tab.
    5. Under the "Error checking" section, click on the "Check" button.
    6. Windows will now check the disk for errors and report any issues it finds.

    Best Regards,

    Hania Lian
