Debora Comparin delivered an excellent speech at the EU Open Source Policy Forum this morning. She introduced the #OSIA reference #opensource implementation, which is based on #openstandards and developed in collaboration with UNDP and the Nordic Institute for Interoperability Solutions (NIIS). #OSIA connects the #identity #buildingblocks of #digitalgovernment, a #collaboration between industry and government to achieve SDG 16.9, ensuring Identity for all, including birth registration. This is especially timely, coinciding with the launch of the #OSEE partnership between the International Telecommunication Union, the European Commission INTPA, and UNDP to facilitate the development of #digitalpublicinfrastructure. #opengovernance #community Olivier Heurtier Chahine Hamila Petteri Kivimäki

SIDI Hub Announces Roadmap to Drive Cross-Border Interoperability for Digital Identity. “Interoperability is crucial for a fair and inclusive digital society. In the same way payments can be made across borders, we need mechanisms in place to assure people that they'll be able to prove their identity online and offline, whenever needed.” As a founding member of the SIDI Hub, Secure Identity Alliance is committed to working with the digital identity community to accelerate the path to cross-border interoperability. Decade of Progress, Vision for the Future: A Year in Review As we concluded 2023 by commemorating our 10th anniversary during the SIA Secure Identity Summit in Brussels on November 30th, we want to emphasize the driving forces behind our organization over the past ten years and those that will propel us in the years to come. Our unwavering commitment to fostering collaboration, disseminating best practices, and catalyzing innovation, coupled with a steadfast dedication to ensuring equitable market dynamics through interoperability, underscores the SIA's mission to unlock the full potential of identity, to facilitate the thriving of individuals, the economy, and society. Central to our vision for digital transformation is the cultivation of secure, inclusive, and privacy-respecting digital identity systems and credentials on a global scale. We aspire to facilitate a connected world where individuals, businesses, and governments can engage confidently and seamlessly in physical and digital transactions, thereby promoting responsible and sustainable economic growth. Throughout 2023, the SIA sustained its collaborative efforts with governments, multilateral entities, and industry partners, advocating our vision. None of our achievements would have been possible without the support of our 60+ members, affiliated members, and partners. We take this opportunity to express our gratitude and extend our wishes for a successful 2024 to all. Read A year in Review here: https://lnkd.in/eGuACF58

On 28th November, at TRUSTECH Event, the inaugural meeting of the #SIDIHub brought together 120 digital identity experts from governments, multilaterals, standard organizations, and non-profits to define what is needed to achieve global interoperability for digital identity. 🌍We were pleased to have the active participation of representatives from the OECD, several UN agencies, the World Bank, and 22 countries from across the globe, among the many participating organizations. We had the honour to have a presentation for the opening of the SIDI Hub inaugural summit from Tristan Fulchiron, Digital Advisor to the French Minister of Interior Gerald Darmanin and Philippe Latombe, French Deputy, Member of the Commission of Laws and VP Economy, Security and Digital Sovereignty Group of the French Parliament. 🙏 A big thank you to all those who attended the summit. Your active participation and insightful contributions greatly contributed to the success of the meeting! 90% of participants expressed their desire to continue the work in 2024, while a large majority agreed that a consensus view is necessary to understand what digital identity interoperability can achieve (GDP impact, inclusion). They also agreed to champion cross-border use cases, create a mapping of trust frameworks across jurisdictions, establish minimum requirements for digital identity interoperability, identify which organizations are contributing specific capabilities to digital identity infrastructure, and define global shared metrics to measure success. This consensus view underscores the need to strengthen digital identity interoperability efforts worldwide and highlights the willingness of all sectors to catalyse global action now for an interoperable digital future for all. Aimé Mukuma "The Identity is the future” Mark Verstege Vertege “A fantastic start to solving a difficult problem with incredible human value. Well done Guys” A post-summit report will be released by year-end detailing the key insights from the summit. 📩 Sign up to the SIDI Hub mailing list to receive the latest news straight to your inbox: https://bit.ly/3R8HSUl and join SIDI Hub LinkedIn Group #SIDIHub #DigitalIdentity #DigitalIdentityInteroperability The SIDI Hub is organized by: ADI Association, Decentralized Identity Foundation (DIF), Digital ID and Authentication Council of Canada - DIACC, FIDO Alliance, GlobalPlatform™, Identity Defined Security Alliance (IDSA), IDPro®, Kantara Initiative, OASIS, OIX - Open Identity Exchange, OpenWallet Foundation, OpenID Foundation, Secure Identity Alliance (SIA) / OSIA, Trust Over IP Foundation (ToIP) and World Privacy Forum.
