US sends Israel 100+ weapons shipments. Most Americans oppose it – but Biden ignores them.

The US has sent Israel more than 100 arms shipments since October 7, to bomb Gaza. Polls show 52% of North Americans oppose these weapons sales. Biden defies the Democratic Party’s base, while allying with Trump and the Republicans.

americans oppose 100 us arms sales to israel

Polling shows that a slight majority of people in the United States oppose sending weapons to Israel to help it wage its brutal war on Gaza.

However, despite the fact that only a quarter of North Americans support arming Israel, the Joe Biden administration has sent the country more than 100 arms shipments since October 7, the Washington Post reported.

The newspaper quoted a former senior Biden administration, who remarked, “That’s an extraordinary number of sales over the course of a pretty short amount of time, which really strongly suggests that the Israeli campaign would not be sustainable without this level of U.S. support”.

A poll published by the Center for Economic and Policy Research (CEPR) in Washington, DC found that 52% of North Americans want to end US weapons shipments to Israel.

Nearly two-thirds (62%) of those who voted for Joe Biden oppose arms sales Israel.

Among people who did not vote for president, 60% do not want to send weapons.

The only political group that supported giving weapons to Israel was Donald Trump voters: 55%.

A mere 27% of all North Americans want to continue selling arms to Israel.

In other words, Biden and the Democratic Party leadership agree with Trump and the Republicans, and the DNC is defying its own base.

cepr poll US weapons israel gaza

This was confirmed by another poll in January, which was commissioned by The Economist magazine. It found that 49% of young people in the United States (those between ages 18 and 29) and 49% of Democrats say Israel is committing genocide in Gaza.

Overall, slightly over one-third (35%) of North Americans say Israel is committing genocide.

On the other hand, 57% of Republicans do not think Israel was committing genocide (just 18% do think so).

These surveys demonstrate that the only people represented by the US government’s staunchly pro-Israel policy are conservatives, Republicans, and Trump supporters.

UN experts say Israel is carrying out genocide

The top United Nations expert on the right to food, Michael Fakhri, stated publicly that Israel is intentionally starving Palestinian civilians and carrying out genocide.

Meanwhile, Washington has voted against four UN Security Council resolutions that called for peace in Gaza, unilaterally using its veto power three times to kill ceasefire proposals.

US kills 4th UN call for peace in Gaza, helping Israel violate Hague’s genocide ruling

The UN’s International Court of Justice (ICJ) at the Hague ruled in January that there is sufficient evidence to investigate Israel on charges of genocide.

A US federal court likewise found that Israel’s scorched-earth war on Gaza “plausibly” amounts to genocide.

The ICJ ordered Israel to stop killing Palestinians and to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza.

The leading Western human rights organization, Amnesty International, warned that “Israel has failed to take even the bare minimum steps to comply” with the Hague’s ruling, adding that “Israel has continued to disregard its obligation as the occupying power to ensure the basic needs of Palestinians in Gaza are met”.

Children in Gaza are starving to death under a suffocating Israeli blockade.

The UN News agency warned that “more infants [in Gaza] may die from hunger”.

The Associated Press reported in January that the “Israeli military campaign in Gaza, experts say, now sits among the deadliest and most destructive in recent history”.

China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi reiterated Beijing’s calls for an immediate ceasefire and stated at a press conference, “It is a tragedy for humankind and a disgrace for civilization that today, in the 21st century, this humanitarian disaster cannot be stopped”.

Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim was even more direct in his criticism of Western hypocrisy.

“Why, for example, is the West so vociferous, vehement and unequivocal in the condemnation of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, while remaining utterly silent on the relentless bloodletting inflicted on the innocent men, women and children of Gaza?” Anwar asked.

“Unfortunately, the gut-wrenching tragedy that continues to unfold in the Gaza Strip has laid bare the self-serving nature of much valued, the much vaunted rules-based order”, the Malaysian leader added.

That map at 16:47 which does not distinguish nations in Europe, including Russia, creates the impression that all of Europe is some sort of evil colonizer. The polls at the beginning remind me of Winston Churchill´s famous quote: “Do not trust any statistics you did not fake yourself.” It also reminds me of the genetically engineered lab mice which can be bought from a catalogue to falsify studies.

Whenever I hear the expression “experts say” or see such deliberately misleading charts, I get suspicious of those who apply them. I didn´t expect that from you to be honest.

“The government is not legitimate unless it is carried on with the consent of the governed,” English philosopher John Locke said in the 17th century.

War is the only industry that still functions in America, which explains its obsession with death and destruction.

“…These surveys demonstrate that the only people represented by the US government’s staunchly pro-Israel policy are conservatives, Republicans, and Trump supporters…”

This statement is misleading, yet exposes the lack of democratic accountability in the US since US govt. and Congressional unconditional support of Israel is notoriously BIPARTISAN. The DNC (and RNC)doesn’t give a toss what the public think, that much has been demonstrated for decades.

(It is still not clear whether the weapons shipments are gifts or if Israel will actually pay for them)

Back in the day, Bill Clinton, when he “alienated” his base by signing NAFTA, Crime Bill, repealed Glass Steagall etc, replied with a chuckle “whadda they gonna do? Vote republican?” The cruel joke is on us.

The JB regime is D not R, yet is as rabidly genocidal as the Rs in Congress. It doesn’t matter what the public think. As I say ad nauseam: the US has no functioning democracy, it is “an oligarchy with unlimited political bribery”

Most would like to remain in blissful denial and think “if we just vote one more time, (and the elections are always historical, crucial for our democracy blah blah) things will be better. Yeah right, it’s gonna take more than voting to alter the status quo.

The robber baron bankster himself {J.P. Morgan} commented after the Great Depression:

“When through a process of law the common people have lost their homes, they will be more tractable and more easily governed by the strong arm of the law applied by the central power of leading financiers. People without homes will not quarrel with their leaders. This is well known among our principle men now engaged in forming an imperialism of [crony] capitalism to govern the world.  By dividing the people we can get them to expend their energies in fighting over questions of no importance to us.”

How can a people who have struggled long years under oppression throw off their oppressors and establish a free society? The problems are immense, but their solution lies in the education and enlightenment of the people and the emergence of a spirit that will serve as a foundation for independence and self-government. – Thomas Jefferson

Ghost, you are a real pepper-upper!

After having lost my home, livelihood, substantial savings, and significant chattel – during the dastardly fabricated “2008 Global Financial Crisis”- these are among my favorite parts:

“The ultimate ownership of all property is in the State; individual {so-called} “ownership” is only by {virtue} of Government, i.e., law, amounting to mere “user” and use must be in acceptance with law and subordinate to the necessities of the State.” The “plan” is to control all resources (does this remind you of Ukraine/Russia?), human and natural. The control is not by elected public officials, but by a self-appointed oligarchy.

(So-called) ownership: seemingly, apparently, or on the surface. Why are we paying taxes: to fund corporate wars, to implement genocide?

(Virtue) of Government: Oligarchs have usurped the US Government; therefore, the Government is essentially an Oligarch devoid of virtue. Hence, the American public is a (mere) “user” and (ownership) is virtually abstract; consequently, why is the American public paying taxes, and where do the taxes go? Perhaps this is a clue: https://virtualglobetrotting.com/map/e-stanley-kroenke-ann-waltons-house/ ?

(Mere) user: If the American public is a mere “user,” the United States is merely a holding company with a belligerence complex.

(Self-appointed) Oligarchy: this has Donald Trump written all over it. Isn’t Donald Trump (extraordinary at grating), the greatest (former) President since prior to the formation of the universe? Ok, don’t flip-out, I’ll also include the “dog face pony soldier!”

The United States: a society designed to incentivize criminal behavior at the highest level!

“Donating” or “selling” weapons to Israel means huge profits for the US MIC. The US Deep State does not give a shit about the concerns of US citizens (nor the lives of Palestinians nor World opinion).
Over and over we see that the main drivers of US policy are Hegemonic Ideology, MIC profiteering and Fossil Fool profiteering, the latter now also being a prime driver of Zionazi policy.

Fossil Fuel (mainly gas) Geopolitics behind the Ukraine and Gaza situations:
    1. Fossil fuel profiteering by US corporations was a major, if not THE major proximate
motivator for the US to provoke, indeed to force Russia into military intervention in
Donbass. In that respect, we must admit that the US has been successful, at least in the short term. Half a million dead Ukrainians so far is irrelevant.
    2. Cheap fossil fuels are the basis for all economic wealth in industrial economies. The Germans of all people are certainly aware of this fact, after all it is Angela Merkel who pleaded with
Russia to build Nordstream 2 many years ago. However she also later demonstrated schizophrenic dysfunction when she (with Francois Hollande) openly admitted she never had any intention of honoring the Minsk 2 peace agreements, thus ultimately provoking Russia’s military intervention in Ukraine, the blowback for which is causing the industrial demise of the Germs.
When economic considerations conflict with political considerations in EU/NATO, it seems that
decisions which benefit the USA always prevail, even to the detriment of Europeans, because the US has captured all decision making processes of the Euro fake “leaders”.

    To unpack further:
Re: Fossil Fool Politico Economic skulduggery:
Back in 2003, the sockpuppet Shrub, controlled by Dick “Halliburton” Cheney, denied that Operation Iraqi Liberation AKA O.I.L. had anything to do with oil. Those who believed that may well believe the US provocation of Russia’s SMO in 2022 had nothing to do with gas.
However please note this timing of events: by late 2021, Nordstream 2 was physically completed
and just needed formal Euro certification to come on-line. In December 2021 aggressive war
preparations to use NATO proxy Western Ukrainians to invade Donbas were becoming increasingly
obvious to the Russians, prompting Putin to make many phonecalls to Biden to try to reduce
tensions, which Biden dismissed. In February 2022 there was exponential acceleration of shelling of
    Donbas by the Ukronazis https://www.osce.org/special-monitoring-mission-to-ukraine/512683
which always occurs as a prelude to ground invasion. A huge troop
buildup of UkroNazis on the border was also apparent. https://www.kanekoa.news/p/osce-reports-reveal-ukraine-started
If the UkroNazis had been allowed to invade
Donbass, there would be wholesale slaughter of the Russophones and it would be exceedingly difficult to expel those Nazis after occupation. The ONLY option available to Russia was to pre-empt the Nazi invasion with the Russian SMO.
The SMO was portrayed by the Western gutter press as “Russian aggression” and gave the European
politicians, the Germs in particular (puppets of the USA), the excuse to cut economic ties with
Russia, in particular to prevent the opening of Nordstream 2 and to curtail Nordstream 1.
This soon led to economic hardships and street demonstrations by ordinary Germs.
The USA, concerned about political wavering by Schol and the risk he may resume Nordstream supplies due to public pressure, then blew up Nordstream (as per compelling evidence tabled by Seymour Hersh).
Result: USA agenda of “selling” hugely overpriced fracked LNG to Europe was now secured. There was NO other way the USA would EVER be able to export super expensive fracked LNG to any sucker (utterly uncompetitive with piped gas or even with conventional LNG eg from Qatar) except by
    such sabotage and skullduggery.
Short term political goal of “keeping Russia out, keeping USA in and keeping Germany down” (as stated by first NATO head) was achieved, while simultaneously fleecing the stupid German sheeple.
A major motivating factor for Israel to expel Palestinians from Gaza today, is certainly the offshore massive Levantine gasfields, to which the Palestinians have some legitimate claim. I
alluded to this previously in my comment after this article https://geopoliticaleconomy.com/2023/12/12/us-troops-occupy-syria-oil-congress-withdraw/

Re: Cheap fossil fuels and economic wealth.
This is not only because high EROEI cheap fossil fuels power industry and agriculture, but because such fossil fuels are vital feedstocks for just about all chemical processes, especially production of plastics, pharmaceuticals and of course nitrogen fertilisers (Haber-Bosch process, which was invented by the Germs). It was therefore INEVITABLE that attempting to replace high EROEI cheap gas with low EROEI
superexpensive fracked imported LNG would FAIL, it would spell the doom of German industry and wealth.
Many who see the fact that our current material wealth is tied to high EROEI fossil fuels, choose to deny the fact that Global Warming, which could potentially render us extinct, is caused by our fossil fuel emissions. However BOTH are true at the same time.
Therefore the uncomfortable conclusion is that the only way we can mitigate against the Global warming catastrophe requires that we reduce our FF emissions which means reducing our material wealth (as we know it).
Is it possible to maintain a high quality lifestyle with massive reduction of FF use? Not with large scale centrally controlled so-called renewable energy schemes that attempt to produce the same high energy output we are used to. Business as usual is simply inviable.
Meaningful emissions reduction requires COMPLETE SYSTEMIC RESTRUCTURING, not only of our current industrial-energy
setup but also of the politico-economic system.
The only survivable way forward, as concluded by many many scientists, is this:
Village economies based on small scale decentralised permaculture food production and thermally
efficient passive solar off-grid dwellings using locally generated energy (again mostly from solar). Also if we cannot get fertiliser from Haber-Bosch, we need to establish our own closed loop systems,
importantly we must use biologically processed pathogen-free human waste as a source of energy and fertiliser:
    http://www.turtlebiogas.com
Is that a pipe dream? There is guaranteed inevitable massive human die-off ahead
(preceded by economic upheavals) and the only way for selected human communities to survive the upcoming conflagration is the above. Of course Neoliberal Neocolonial Neoconartist psychopaths are dead against such a
revolution because such communities will be outside their exploitative control. So such transformation must therefore be done
under the radar by those who are able, which is only a tiny minority of the population.
    The vast
    majority will simply die.

Cure E US: Nice article from Hagopian. The only quibble I have is the oligarchy are not “globalists”, nor global. They are Western (mostly US) oligarch-imperialist-capitalist sociopaths. They might fancy themselves as dominating the globe, but that is hubris. The US will continue to decline and the global majority and the East will eventually retake their historical position, before the dominance of the West.

The term “globalist” has become a trendy that is mostly used by right-wing authoritarians posing as “libertarians”.

On a related note: I also hear the trendy nonsensical terms “cultural Marxism” and “Military Keynesianism”. The people who use these have clearly never read Marx, or Keynes, so they don’t realize the absurdity and ignorance. But in ‘murka ignorance is a virtue.

JonnyJames! Yes, the haughty-omniscient are proud of their titles. More words. More hollow words. Most of the time it seems there only strategy is to stonewall and obfuscate the public. For example, here are (3) comparable words: Republicans, Democrats and perfidious.

The USA is no longer able to apply its will in the particularly arbitrary and solitary manner that it has been able to and the problem with this is that it is an extremely dangerous moment because as the Empire fades, as it senses its strength weakening and slipping away from its grip, it becomes more threatening. It’s similar to the drunk at the saloon and the saloon is closing and the drunk is intoxicated with power. It has exhausted its credit cards and it has struck out with everyone. It is now time to leave and go home. The Empire must go home but it doesn’t want to go home. It wants to start a fight even if it has to fight everyone in the saloon!

Cheers for the laughs Eric! In these times, we have to maintain our sense of humor. Great summary of events above, as well.

It might sound quite vulgar in all English-speaking countries, but nonetheless fitting to add the “neo” labels; “Neocunts” even worse than the old-school AnlgoCunts and AmeriCunts.

This is OT. Here is a report, by Ben Norton, in 2015:

A conservative Washington think tank that opposed a federal ban of trans fats has also actively campaigned against climate science and environmental regulation, and is funded by secret donors. The ban “is expected to reduce coronary heart disease and prevent thousands of fatal heart attacks every year.” This report takes the cake! https://theintercept.com/2015/06/18/fight-defend-trans-fats-funded-dark-money/

Thanks, Ben (and staff), for helping to expose these non-thinking tanks. Moreover, thank you for providing a platform to express our thoughts and concerns – It really helps…

Some of you, in the audience, may perceive me as an unctuous lickspittle, but I assure you, that couldn’t be further from the truth. By the way, I have no idea what those words mean!
