Abstract
This chapter focuses on medical problems in the athlete. It is not inclusive of all medical issues but does review some of the most encountered issues that an athlete may have depending on their environment, sport, and intrinsic medical issues. It is important to be aware of these issues as they may require preventive measures in some sports and may even necessitate exclusion from sports.
