Ukraine restricts international travel for senior officials
The president said the limits on international travel applies to foreign trips by national and local officials that are unrelated to their official duties.

“If they want a holiday (abroad) – they can do that, but not while they’re employed by the state,” said Zelenskyy.
“Officials will not longer be able to travel abroad to take a vacation or for any other reason not connected with their duties to the state.”

According to a message on Zelenskyy’s website, the personal travel ban applies to MPs, senior officials at the Cabinet, President’s Office, National Bank, SBU security service, other government agencies, and their deputies.
Withing five days, the government will outline procedures for civil servants and officials crossing Ukraine’s borders “while traveling on official business.”

On Jan. 20, Ukrainian media reported that Deputy Prosecutor-General of Ukraine, Oleksii Symonenko holidayed in Spain during wartime.
On Jan. 23, Ukrainska Pravda reported Symonenko has resigned from his post. Ukrainian MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak has subsequently confirmed the report.
