FIFA are pledging £750,000 in aid to the victims of war in Ukraine as the suffering following Russia's invasion escalates.

Since the start of the conflict, the FIFA Foundation has been involved in a number of initiates to support the victims.

An initial shipment of humanitarian supplies has been dispatched to the Ukrainian Association of Football.

And now, a donation of $1million (£758,000) has been allocated by the governing body to aid the stricken in Ukraine.


'In the face of this conflict, we want to do our part and support the people in Ukraine and the ones who have fled the war,' said FIFA president Gianni Infantino.

'The FIFA Foundation stands ready to provide some of the needed assistance by working in coordination with the football community in Ukraine and in the region.'

The FIFA Foundation, the UEFA Foundation for Children, FIFA, UEFA, the Ukrainian FA and FIFA member associations are combing forces to ensure football plays its part in helping those effected by the war in Ukraine.

Following a request from the Ukrainian FA, a shipment of first-aid medical kits has already been dispatched by road to Ukraine to meet people's most urgent needs.

Besides these humanitarian activities, FIFA has also adopted a series of temporary regulatory measures to support professional players and clubs in these difficult times.
