For over 15 years, we’ve been committed to reducing our environmental impact from being the first media company to go carbon neutral in 2006 to launching the world’s first auto standby set top box 🌍   And as part of our ongoing commitment, we’ve signed a new 10-year agreement with Octopus Renewables Infrastructure Trust (ORIT) to receive 100 GWh of clean, renewable energy annually from the Crossdykes Wind Farm from 2025 – which is equivalent to approximately 34,000 UK homes’ annual electricity use 💡   Find out more on our latest agreement here ➡ https://lnkd.in/eTzeAia4

‘An ally is any individual involved in the promotion and advancement of an inclusive culture through positive and intentional action.’ ✨ The role of an ally was the hot topic at our ”Allyship: Empowering Change Together" event hosted by Sky Women in Finance last month. The session included exploring the behaviours of an ally led by The Employers Network for Equality & Inclusion, and a panel discussion which aimed to de-mystify some of the challenges faced by women in the workplace and highlight the barriers to success they can still face. ‘Your self-worth should never be determined by the rooms you walk into.’ ✨ Black entrepreneurs continue to face significant barriers that can hinder their success. Research by Extend Ventures showed that between 2009 and 2019, only 0.24% of capital in the UK was allocated to Black founders with just 0.02% to Black female entrepreneurs. For the past three years, Sky has been working with the Black Equity Organisation to help tackle this challenge through the Future 100 Growth Fund. The programme aims to support Black entrepreneurs to help them overcome these challenges and develop their businesses through a tailored 12-week workshop and mentoring programme, investment of up to £15,000, and 12-months free Sky Business broadband.
