WHO online consultation meeting to discuss global principles for identifying credible sources of health information on social media

Overview

This document is a full meeting report of an online consultation hosted by the WHO Digital channels team, in close collaboration with the National Academy of Medicine (NAM), and facilitated by the British Medical Journal (BMJ) on 15 December 2021. Fifteen global health experts (Annex I: List of Participants) from around the world participated in the meeting to review a paper published by the NAM and to discuss whether the principles for identifying credible sources of health information on social media can be applied globally and if there are any challenges to applying the principles in different regions.
