I bought 2 clamp lamps as grow lights for my plants during the winter. The lamps are exactly as advertised and work well. They are affordable and well made. Aesthetically - they won't work in your living room, but functionally, they are perfect.

I purchased two of these in the hopes to use them to help bring additional light into a photo studio that I had made. The clamp itself attaches to the lamp using a swivel (bevel?) style, that lacks in turning radius and function. Also the clamp requires a lot of pressure to open and doesn't open very wide (about 2" or so), if you need to clamp this onto something thick (or need to be able to swivel the lamp fully, without dis-assembling it), this item is NOT for you.

This looks like it is made purposely to break within the first few months of use. The clamp doesn't hold very well, and the aluminum reflector bowl is like aluminum foil. Certainly not like the old American Made products of our childhood.

Lightweight, clamps easily to the crown molding on top of my cabinets (I have a bunch of plants on top of my fridge). I wish the cord was a bit longer, it is the length listed, just making a comment. Besides the length of the cord, I don't have any other cons to list.

These clamp lights are minimal but they're a good value. They're of sturdy construction, the clamps are strong, they have a switch (which surprisingly some others don't). I was quite happy with my first set so I bought more of them.

Because they're on the small side, the bulbs I'm using protrude beyond the reflective dome so they aren't able to reflect all the light in a forward direction. Depending on the intended application, this may not be a big deal for you.

    Safety Warning:
If you're wanting to put a heat lamp in one of these, opt instead for a clamp light with a metal protective grate that prevents the bulb from being touched. Otherwise if the clamp fails the bulb could fall and touch something flammable starting a fire.

The reflector doesn't screw securely onto the base. In addition, the lamp's angle isn't adjustable enough to do what I wanted to do with it. But, I wouldn't get enough of a refund to make returning it worthwhile, so I'll try to make it work.

I have a loft bed in a small studio and this lamp is so convenient to clip anywhere! the clip is strong and the lamp is durable. It's fallen to the floor a bunch of times-- the metal reflector has dented but otherwise this thing is invincible and completely minimalist. And cheap. So very much so. I wouldn't be able to buy the raw materials for making this thing myself for this little money.
