Chairman still committed to redevelopment

Wolves chairman Steve Morgan has reiterated that he remains as keen as ever to see through his spectacular bricks-and-mortar redevelopment of Molineux - but his plans are on hold for the moment.

One leg of the massive project has been accomplished with the completion of the new Stan Cullis Stand - a towering structure that houses the club's museum, megastore and showpiece corporate facilities.

And he used yesterday's unveiling of Dean Saunders as manager to enlarge on his vision off the field when asked to do so by the media.

"When we embarked on the redevelopment, we didn't know there was going to be a complete revolution in Academy football.

"We are a category one Academy club and have to provide very significant facilities. We have already spent several million and that's going to take a lot of money.

"That has to take priority over the stands, especially as we are nowhere near filling the stadium. The priority has to be the Academy and getting the (first) team right.

"I would be the most wanted man in Wolverhampton if I said we were doing that and not the Academy or giving Dean any money. I don't believe in suicide!

"But I am still as determined as ever to see the plans through."
