Finally some movement on series 2 Apple watch prices...but unfortunately not in my country.

I wonder if this a one off Mother's day sale, or a sign of regularly discounted pricing for the watch line. Maybe Series 3 is closer than the fall?

Before anyone blames poor sales, keep in mind retail stores are giving away $100 gift cards with the Galaxy S8.
Lol leave it to that one person who just has to bring up Samsung lol. And retailers have also done gift cards and BOGO deals for both Samsung and Apple. Pretty sure there was a BOGO deal going on when the iPhone 7 dropped. And carriers were also giving out device fee credits if you traded in your old phone thus making the iPhone 7 (32GB) basically free or heavily discounted if you got the Plus or a bigger GB size. This happens for both Samsung and Apple and LG and Microsoft and Sony, etc etc

I wonder why we rarely seem to get these sales in Canada....

Edt - asked before I read the answer above, though you'd think we'd still get something...

In part because you have a national tax on any media or device that copyrighted music/video can be copied to.

This was the case back when CD's were popular. I'm not so sure it applies much to today.
If you simply compare Bestbuy.ca and .com, factoring the exchange rate, it's pretty much bang on. In other words, there's not any additional margins found.

So there must be some other factors at play that allows BB to offer a substantial discount in one country and not in another.

Good deal! Was holding off on upgrading my Series 0; but this, and some soon-to-expire rewards changed my mind. Series 0 going on eBay.

If you were looking for an excuse to take the plunge or to upgrade, its a pretty good deal. Am seriously tempted myself.

Does it seem more likely, then, that new iPad Pro's are close to being released? I've been waiting to upgrade my iPad Air for a little while now, but I'm unsure whether to wait until some unknown date to get the newest generation, or to go get one now at a discount.

Yep. I did the same thing.

No real push to upgrade to a series 2, but wow, I'm glad I did.

The screen brightness is a big deal outside. I can see it now. Plus, the battery is 70% at the end of the day instead of 10%. If the charger doesn't get put on the watch correctly overnight, I'm still good for the next day. Also, having water lock to lock the screen if I'm out in a rain storm is great.

Well worth it.
