Really?And for the rest of us, X marks the spot.
Quite a lot of us won't be spending even a dollar this time around. {judging by previous comments here and on other sites}

Weird that the screen is better, but the back breaks easier, but it is the most expensive piece to replace. Go figure.
Man, I am so right there with you. I love the color, and that creamy glass back. But white bezels kill it for me. I received my black 8 Plus yesterday, great phone. But I would've loved that gold.That's quite a nice and subtle shade of rose gold or whatever, just not a fan of those white front bezels.
I'm bothered more by the lack of a 128 option, which for me is the sweet spot. But I store almost everything in the cloud now, and I could live with 64. But I did exactly what Apple expects most of us to do and went with the 256, just to future proof myself. In any case, I'm on the annual upgrade plan and will trade it in next year for the successor to the X, or, if rumors persist about availability, I'll put my name on the waiting list for the original X!I still think 64gb is absolutely insulting.
Im looking forward to the new 4.2" iPhone SE2Honestly, I'm still digging my (relatively) new silver SE.
What's old is new?
What statistics, are you looking at?Not sure what statistics you’re looking at dude. The amount of users on iPhone 6 or later is staggering. This is expected to be a super cycle.
“Noticeable upgrade from the iPhone 7”? Do I detect a tinge of fanboyism in that statement?
I think most will appreciate the iPhone 8 who are upgrading to an older model iPhone such as yourself from the iPhone 6. I couldn't justify enough reason to upgrade for my iPhone 7 to the iPhone 8, which is potentially why am up going to the iPhone X. But I think the iPhone 8 will do really well in the long run, and sell the most because it's the most affordable and available.
Gotta call this out. I really like my new black 8 for lots of reasons, and the glass looks fantastically sleek. Gorgeous piece of kit, but no one should be out there thinking it’s “grippy.” It’s thin, smooth as, well, glass, and slippery as hell. Needs a bumper/case or you will drop it. Pity ‘cause it’s so pretty.Because of the glass body, the iPhone 8 and the iPhone 8 Plus are heavier than past iPhones, but at the same time, easier to hold, both due to small thickness increases and the grip of the glass itself.
"Overrated" means that I'm likely to like it more than you do, since to be overrated, it has to be rated higher than you would personally prefer.plus wireless charging is overrated.
Except that iPhone 8:I recently watched the conference thinking can they possibly be rehashing the IPhone 6 again and possibly getting excited about this old naff design at all? I was just waiting for the IPhone X.
The 8 is a total waste of space and shouldn’t even exist.
I'm very similar to you. I've currently have no phone and I'm waiting for the x, if it's sold out I'll buy an eight plus until the x becomes available.
Nice. This will be old in a few weeks
