I tried it out (the first beta) for a week and man o' man, it's got a looong ways to go. So many bugs and issues. Chief among them, was insane battery use and the lack of charging quickly like before. I went through the steps to go back this Saturday. I'm glad others are willing to go through the growing pains of these beta's for us, but it's just not for me. It was in a rough state and the camera app was beyond frustrating... which made the 4th of July a bit aggravating.
Could be why they waited until the holiday weekend was over. Figured a lot of new people would jump on PB2 and decided to not cause headaches for them.

Echoing what others have said, the first iPadOS beta was a disaster for me. First beta I’ve ever had problems with. Basic things like seeing emails. Wiped it and went back to 12. Will take a break from betas for a while.

I've had some of the weird phone bugs like missed calls, but the most common bug I’ve had is using quick access on the home screen apps makes that app, native or 3rd party disappear and the only way to make the app icon reappear is force reset. Happens probably 2-3 times per weeks so not a major deal. The other issue is my email app shows I have unread email even though there’s nothing unread. Otherwise, iOS 13 PB1 has been solid on my XR. iPadOS on my 10.5 iPad Pro has been rock solid.

I noticed in this beta the red notification circles are a lighter shade of red.

AirPrint works just fine for me.

While the beta's roughness is well noted, and it is rougher than iOS 12 beta (which was easily the most stable iOS beta by far), I think it's overstated. It's far more usable than many past iOS betas.
I couldn’t get notes to AirPrint all it would usually freeze and pages was hit and miss annotation was also would stall, from running off an iPad Pro 9.7” :)

I don’t trust it on my phone. It is pretty horrible on my ipp 12.9 1st gen. Safari is a hot mess. I tried to send pictures to it via airdrop and it is stuck “Analyzing Library.” I can’t delete google mail, some won’t even download at all. Good thing I have a desktop.

I've been using PB1 on my XS daily driver since it was released. Yes, there are issues: camera app is a little wonky when using anything with depth, screen orientation wigs out sometimes, battery drain is bad, email app doesn't update properly, phone locked up twice since installing, and 3d touch seemed totally replaced with haptic touch. That said, PB1 was completely usable. If you can't regularly deal with issues like those, then public betas simply shouldn't be installed on your daily driver.

I really want to try this beta now but I'm too scared it will mess up my phone
This will come off far more condescending than I mean it.....DONT! If you are unsure about running a beta, you shouldn’t. It’s been said over and over again. It’s not supposed to be an opportunity to try new features it’s for helping apple spot problems by getting them on a massive number of devices outside of the use case of a large spaceship shaped office in Cupertino. Years ago if you participated in the beta but didn’t provide feedback you weren’t invited back to the next beta. We are literally testing their software for free, for the good of everyone. If you depend on your device AT ALL you shouldn’t run it. What happens if your in an accident and a glitch in the way you entered the phone app causes you to not be able to dial 911? That’s not a situation anyone should ever been in, it’s extreme, but it’s a real possibility.

If you must, don’t forget to encrypt and archive a backup through iTunes.

Godspeed brave traveler....

If you haven't joined the public beta yet: don't

it's still pretty rough. alot of apps don't work correctly (or at all)

My experience differs vastly.
On my 12.9” Pro (and previously on the 10.5” Pro) it’s very stable and i’ve encountered no apps I have been unable to use.

From all of the talk I expected glitches, crashes, etc... nothing.

The caveat, of course, is that my experience may be different from others. The 12.9 is not my “daily driver” nor would I install it on a daily driver.

Or themselves as they would have come back to that many more feedback requests from increased 4th of July activity.

I’m a first time public beta user so please forgive the question. Do I need to delete the PB 1 profile before installing the PB 2 one? Thanks

Nope... you're fine. The profile will work with all public betas of iOS13 going forward.

Thanks for the help. I noticed that I’m now showing two separate profiles installed. Will I need to delete these before installing the final version in the fall?

You can, but it won't prevent you from installing the final version.
It is good housekeeping practice though to remove unused profiles.
