Another clue has surfaced to suggest that Apple's rumored lower-cost iPhone SE successor will likely be released soon.

belkin-iphone-se-screen-protector.jpg

Earlier today, a product listing for a Belkin screen protector on Apple's online store was updated to reflect compatibility with not only the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8, but also the iPhone SE. Given the original iPhone SE was a 4-inch device, and the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 are 4.7-inch devices, this is likely a reference to the rumored 2020 model of the iPhone SE.

The product listing does not reveal any further details about the device, which was previously dubbed the iPhone SE 2 or iPhone 9, beyond supporting rumors that it will have a 4.7-inch display. The device is also expected to have an A13 chip, 3GB of RAM, and 64GB to 256GB of storage, with pricing estimated to start around $399 in the United States.

MacRumors reader Gijs Van Laer alerted us to this product listing earlier today and it has since been shared by Aaron Zollo and others on Twitter.

So iPhone SE is $50 dollar cheaper than iPhone 8 while being more powerful ? The old Apple would have priced it at $499 and drop the iPhone 8 to $399.

If it is indeed a $399, it would implies Apple has a shift in its pricing strategy. ( Which was quite apparent with its iPhone 11 and XR pricing, but this would further prove the point )

So this screen protector fits the 4" iPhone SE from 2016 with the A9 chip? As well as the 4.7" iPhone 7 and 8?

weak name Apple, weak name. Both SE 2 and 9 made more sense than this.

iPhone SE came out in 2016!

Sorry mate, this new "old" name is dumb imo.

For real though, They did the same thing when the SE came out in 2016. Dropped the price vs the 5s, offering flagship internals for less (at least in some markets they dropped the price, not sure if it was the same price as the 5s in States)

I would assume if the pricing is accurate that the 8 would be getting the boot. It would also surprise me if they use the same chip as the 11 and price it that low.

I've been anxiously awaiting this rumored iPhone SE for quite some time. Planning to upgrade my iPhone 6 finally. I guess we'll see what it actually contains before I decide if I'll go for the 2020 SE or the iPhone 11.

The work from home arrangement has made the leaks uncontrolled.

Apple actually had really tight control over the leaks under Cook for the last few years, (aside from some software that was decoded through the HomePod.) But right now, there’s just too much occurring where they can’t stop certain things from happening. But then again, who is really paying attention to these leaks? I mean aside from us ‘techies’, general consumers have no idea what’s to come.
