Apple to Debut Powerbeats Pro in New Colors That Include Cloud Pink, Glacier Blue, Spring Yellow and Lava Red

Apple is planning to introduce new Powerbeats Pro models in an array of bright, spring-themed colors that include cloud pink, glacier blue, spring yellow, and lava red, according to a rumor sourced from a Weibo account (via iMore).

The rumor comes from WaveTech, a source without a known track record for sharing accurate info about Apple's plans, but the wide attention the rumor has garnered leads us to believe the information could potentially be correct.

First introduced in April 2019, the Powerbeats Pro are currently only available in black, ivory, moss, and navy, all of which are plainer, more subdued colors, so the brighter color options will be a welcome update.

Apple often adds new Beats headphones options in updated colorways, offering a range of seasonal color options for products like the Beats Solo and Studio headphones, so it's no surprise to see new Powerbeats Pro color options being made available.

There were rumors earlier this year that suggested Apple would debut Powerbeats Pro 2 earbuds, but regulatory documents suggest that the "Powerbeats Pro 2" are just a minor refresh with an internal tweak that changes the model number.

It's likely that the new model numbers will be associated with the Powerbeats Pro that are being released in the new spring colors, though there may also be minor internal tweaks to the updated Powerbeats Pro.

The powerbeats pro deal did go away so there is no update other than new colors

I considered Purchasing the Powerbeats Pro, and unfortunately the negative reviews outweighed the positives, which swayed me otherwise to the AirPod Pros initially. The complaint I read Most was hardware issues With the construction falling apart in early months of ownership, plus which I think is indicative that that’s probably true, because I also consider the ‘Beats X’, which also has quite a few reviews about the’ build quality’ of those falling apart.

My take on the Beats brand, is adequate sound with poor construction. I realize it’s a huge brand cache for Apple, but I don’t trust Beats in terms of quality standards with build/overall durability.

Haven’t heard of hardware quality issues with the Powerbeats Pro. Definitely software issues, the most common for me being the volume buttons stop working necessitating a repairing. Not ideal but manageable. Hardware wise, they are holding up better to sweat than AirPods and are rock solid for workouts. Would be nice if the next gen adopt ANC and Transparency mode but I’m not holding my breath for that.

There’s plenty of empirical data supporting hardware-quality issues with the Beats Pro. Literally, a quick Google glance will link you to threads discussing that very issue. Just reference Amazon user reviews as your first source, and there’s customers who were not making three months without them falling apart. That’s shotty Craftsmanship with poor quality standards for what they’re charging. Not happening, when there’s plenty of other competition in hat price bracket not suffering poor hardware Standards. Like I mentioned, Beats-X I considered as well, and there was Identical reports of quality issues with construction/materials falling apart.

I had the Beats X for a good 10 months until it broke. I opened it up and in turns out, the neck band is the culprit. The wiring that runs through here is very thin and can easily break if you're not really careful, so I definitely advise against buying those. Sound wise, it was good enough for the sport use I bought it for, but for the construction, I cannot recommend it as it will not last for a long time.

I replaced that with the Powerbeats Pro and so far it has fared better than the Beats X. Sound quality is about as good and the build has withstood medium to heavy use so far. I play a lot of outdoor sports and work out at the gym, and this has been a definite surprise, compared to the Beats X. It hasn't reached a year yet but so far, it has exceeded my expectations. It's literally hit or miss with the Beats brand so buy at your own risk, I suppose.

The 1 star Amazon reviews on the Pro are mostly about sound quality and pairing issues. Barely anything on hardware quality. 4.5 stars out of +9,000 reviews.

Oh good, I’m glad you read over ‘9000‘ Reviews parsing through ‘barely anything’ with hardware quality issues. I should probably change my mind and buy the Powerbeats Pro now, because of what one person says on Macrumors.😁
