I considered Purchasing the Powerbeats Pro, and unfortunately the negative reviews outweighed the positives, which swayed me otherwise to the AirPod Pros initially. The complaint I read Most was hardware issues With the construction falling apart in early months of ownership, plus which I think is indicative that that’s probably true, because I also consider the ‘Beats X’, which also has quite a few reviews about the’ build quality’ of those falling apart.

My take on the Beats brand, is adequate sound with poor construction. I realize it’s a huge brand cache for Apple, but I don’t trust Beats in terms of quality standards with build/overall durability.

If it helps, I had no issues with the build quality of the Beats X. The issue I had was I couldn't keep them in my ears. As soon as I started sweating, they would pop out. But no charging issues, and they just worked. They seemed solidly built, for what they were.

The PowerBeats Pros are just so crazy. Sometimes they both charge, some times only one charges at a time. They connect well, but the charging issue is bad. Yet they will go for weeks working perfectly, and then go rapidly sideways. Recently, one bud was at 5%, and after a night in the (charging?) case, the next morning, it was at a solid 0%. Yay!!! I have a thread here about the issues I've had, and the experience with Apple support. (No, I'm not holding them wrong) They want me to trade them in for a pair of used ones. Yeah, sure...

I recently asked the Apple engineer I was talking with what the difference was, and he actually called (kudos for that) and told me the Apple political line that they don't discuss or disclose 'unannounced products'. I'm going to be focused on those new models. People like me that are having problems with the PBPs would really like a fix, and be able to just pull them out, pop them in, and have them work...

Everything I’ve purchased in the Powerbeats brand was crap, and died shortly after the warranty.

I bought the PBPs because people regularly rip Bose. I, personally, haven't had any issues with Bose products. They just work. The PBPs have been sporadic, and enraging. No build quality issues, but plenty of charging issues.

the colour choice in this range has always been odd. only the navy option looked nice-ish.

whoever is picking colours lately... stop going "on trend".
We can only hope this years phone, "Midnight Blue" maybe, is as popular ar the "Midnight Green" was.

even cases and watch bands seem to be "throw it out there and see what sticks" approach.

all for choice and options. but dog's breakfast isn't what we expect. remember the ipod colours that changed yearly? some were awesome. some not so. but most were popular. some were to fill out the rainbow/spectrum.

Quite possibly the worst product Apple have ever put their name to, on to my third pair of which I have sent back again to have them tell me there is nothing wrong with them.
Always having un-pair and re-pair, always have one or the other headphone drop out....so frustrating.

I’d have maybe considered red if it was available last year.

Not rebuying, though. Maybe if they add the ANC!

I've had all the variants of AirPods and PowerBeats (2, 3, Pro)... *all* the PowerBeats have had major issues... the 2/3 would crap out on sweat after a few weeks (and after my 6th pair the Apple Store gave up and said "you just workout too hard" and gave a full refund plus a PowerBeats Pro)...

The PowerBeats Pro has had constant connectivity issues (always need to have the case around to put them back in and pull out to retry pairing)... the right unit doesn't sit properly so you always have to confirm via the iPhone that the earbuds are charging (otherwise you'll get a surprise of a discharged right side... others have had this issue).

It just seems that Apple grabbed the best internal talent and put them on the AirPods team (none of those have had issues) and left the bozos to build the janky versions for Beats crowd.

Bottom line: my experience says don't buy wonky Beats crap and stick to the Apple brand... hope they make an Apple branded sport version.

Love the yellow ones. I wanted the moss green but as only the blacks where available when they came out I got them instead. Can never go wrong with black tech.

Use them almost every day. Fit isnt perfect but works good enough. A little annoying with it wrapping around the ear when I run with headgear.

Had my PBPs for about 9 months and after extensive days at the gym, I can truly say they suck. Here's my biggest gripes...
1. Ear fatigue. Only a few youtubers who actually used them for a long period have called this out as well.
2. They move away from the ear canal after a little bit of hard lifting. I guess when I clench or something, it causes them to shift. This causes a lot of sound/bass/isolation loss. The whole ear hook design is oversold to consumers especially when they don't stay resting against the ear canal that well.
3. Sound isolation just sucks in general, even when switching to comply foam tips. They really need to redesign the ear tip...

Oh good, I’m glad you read over ‘9000‘ Reviews parsing through ‘barely anything’ with hardware quality issues. I should probably change my mind and buy the Powerbeats Pro now, because of what one person says on Macrumors.?

I skimmed through the poor reviews. I'm familiar enough with sampling as data analysis is part of my occupation. I didn't set out to change your mind. I did my own research and saw that you were wrong with your assertion. No need to get defensive and throw up smoke screens.

No, you didn’t. And your ‘occupation’ has no relevance whatsoever of ‘sampling’ (Which I have no idea What metric you’re ‘using for sampling‘) for some thing that you seriously did not take the time to actually ‘skim’ through 9000 reviews and speculate anything from 1 to 5 stars talking about hardware issues, especially From the time you replied to my post, you’re claiming you skimmed through ‘one star reviews‘ about hardware issues? It’s not like I’m fabricating anything about issues with Beats, I read hundreds of reviews talking about that very issue, it’s a commonality Their hardware is inferior With the lifespan of durability In certain segments, which applies to Beats X as respectively.

Not that I owe you an explanation, but I’m very particular about headphones in general, I have no problem paying a higher price for a quality product, and beats is garbage with their hardware standards, when there are other companies That have similar pricing, and don’t struggle in that category with quality control.

I love my Powerbeats. I wear them 8-10 hours a day 5-6 days a week (mailman). The only issue I’ve had is recently my left one doesn’t seem to get as loud as the right one. Not sure if I should just purchase a replacement one for the left or just get a new set.
