Apple Stops Signing iOS 13.5 After Releasing iOS 13.5.1 With Jailbreak Patch

Following the release of iOS 13.5.1 on June 1, Apple has stopped signing iOS 13.5, which means downgrading to that version of iOS is no longer possible.

iOS 13.5.1 included a fix for the vulnerability that enabled the unc0ver jailbreaking tool that was released on May 24. The unc0ver jailbreak was compatible with all versions of iOS up to iOS 13.5, but since it has been patched in iOS 13.5.1, it is not possible to jailbreak a device running the iOS 13.5.1 update.

Apple released a similar security fix for tvOS, watchOS, and macOS, patching the vulnerability across all devices.

Apple routinely stops signing older versions of software updates after new releases come out in order to encourage customers to keep their operating systems up to date.

iOS 13.5.1, with the security fix, is the only current publicly available version of iOS that can be installed on iPhones and iPads. Apple has also seeded the first betas of upcoming iOS and iPadOS 13.5.5 updates to developers and public beta testers.

I used to jailbreak my iPhone 4, 5, etc. I haven't done it in years, so for old time's sake I did it a few days after the JB was released in May. I remember now why I stopped - I immediately lost the ability to use my Amazon music app. Too bad, I was hoping to try out some new tweaks. The upside is that I was able to remove the JB without erasing the phone and restoring. I could have installed Appstore+ and installed an older version of the Amazon app, but it's just not worth the work, which is the bottom line with JB'ing.

KernBypass allows me to use the most current version of amazon music while jailbroken

The whole jailbreak theme has reminded me that Apple should really get some themes/dynamic wallpapers going. OK maybe "themes" would be very un-Apple, but I should at least be able to get some kind of subtle rain effect on my wallpaper or something.

It can enable things like resigning sideloaded apps automatically, adding the X series UI gestures to TouchID iPhones, and importing music into the Music app. Of course there’s UI customization too. Heck, you can even enable the iPad UI on an iPhone complete with native dock, slide over, and split view. Also enabling PiP for videos. All of this without a hit to performance as it’s all native.

In the attached screenshot I’m using an iPhone 6S Plus with the Little11 tweak enabling the X series UI since I love the newer gestures, especially swiping the bar to multitask, but like TouchID. I’m getting myself used to it before I upgrade this year to the 12. I also have a ProjectFarm YouTube video in PiP. The screen borders also have rounded corners instead of it being a rectangle. I think it looks better.

Now that I’ve jailbroken my XS Max (haven’t been jailbroken in 2 years) I’m definitely not upgrading to 13.5.1. The only tweaks I’m missing is Haptic Touch for my keyboard and customizing my lock screen (I’m working on that now).

How can I get PiP on my JB iPhone? Also how do I do Split View? Which Tweaks is what I guess im asking for kindly. thank you.

My best guess is allowing customisation is against apples “we know much better than you do” mindset. Imagine those professors instead of doing research, they appear on TV news bashing general public and insult them with similar mindset.

iOS is designed for dumb people who don’t care or don’t know much about computer and just want to get the job done. Kinda works, but with no ability to fall back iOS updates and upgrades once Apple ****s up, everyone gets screwed. Many people don’t like it, but this is apple.

PS: don’t call that tiny 7 days grace period “fallback feature”.

Meanwhile, they were quick to patch the jailbreak.
That really tells us what is Apple's priority.

Yeah, and apples solution is using an enterprise tool that is difficult to access. So much about this bs protecting privacy narrative.

The "walled garden" approach will eventually be Apple's undoing. There is very clear demand for an ability to innovate and customize user experience. When a software company comes along that can achieve this while still matching Apple's design philosophy, they will have no problem pulling customers away.

I can’t update past 13.5 on iPhone SE 2020!!!
I had the beta profile but deleted and restarted multiple times...
?

Lot of apps that Apple doesn’t want you to have. I plug my phone into my CarPlay and have my ATT TV going. I can also download torrents, use popcorntime, etc.
