Amazon today has the 256GB Wi-Fi iPad Air (Space Gray) from 2019 for $549.99, down from an original price of $649.99. This $100 discount is a match of the previous low price seen on this model of the iPad Air, and as of now it is the best sale you'll find on the 2019 tablet among the major Apple resellers online.

Shoppers should note that this markdown will not appear until you add the iPad Air into your cart and proceed to the checkout screen, where it will be automatically applied. Amazon says the tablet will be in stock on June 26, so order soon if you're interested as stock may soon dwindle.

Apple in March 2019 launched the new 10.5-inch iPad Air that serves as a middle-tier iPad option between the lower-end iPad and the higher-end iPad Pro models. You can head to our full Best Deals guide for iPad for even more iPad discounts.

iPad Air: A12 and 3GB of RAM
iPhone SE: A13 and 3GB of RAM

Its performance is worse than the iPhone SE's, not only due to the older processor but also due to the higher screen resolution.

Not worth the money.

Wait a few more months for the redesigned 10.8" version with smaller bezels, A13/A14 processor, 4GB RAM, probably 128GB SSD, USB-C, compatible with the 2nd gen Pencil and the Magic Keyboard, for $499.

I think a refurbished iPad Pro 10.5" is a better deal. It has a slightly slower CPU, but a much faster GPU, 1GB more RAM (4GB), higher resolution camera with much brighter aperture and flash, 4K video recording with better stabilization, brighter display, ProMotion 120Hz refresh rate, and four speaker audio. The main reason to get an iPad Air is if you must have a slightly faster processor, need a machine learning co-processor for some specific application, want BT 5.0 or dual band WiFi.

For me, all of the pros of the iPad Pro 10.5" outweigh the cons vs. the iPad Air 10.5", and it's cheaper when you can find it on Apple's refurb store. That is why a couple months ago because of the pandemic I bought one for my daughter to do school work on, and then I got her one of those Logitech trackpad keyboards (recommended also) and handed down my old first gen Apple Pencil since I have a third gen iPad Pro with the newer magnetic Pencil. I got the 64GB version for $379 which I thought was a heck of a deal.

I kinda wonder if they'll be updating the iPad Air soon?

New iPads incoming
Always new ipads. Fall/late October 2020 announcements. Probably A12 budget iPad.
Doubt new iPad Pro coming. They could never release new budget ipad with faster processors than current iPad Pro.

iPad Air 3 has a12/3gb ram. So i suspect 10.8 inch iPad with a12/3gb ram

Exactly. 64GB ipad pro 11, in my opinion, is only good for a handful of users. There are only a couple scenarios I can think of where someone would want that much process power but hardly need any storage.
A handful of user is close to 50% of users who don’t need the space. I got 60 appinstalled on iPad Pro 11 and still got 30gb left. Honestly I could delete half the apps and just go on the iPad “desktop browser” and free up another 10gb of space.

people just become lazy with managing storage.
To each their own. If u feel u need 128/256gb. Go ahead.

Oh my iPhones I definitely need more than 64gb. But really need only 70-80gb. We all know Apple plays the GB game. So I’m forced to use the 256gb model.

but iPad I’m ok with 64gb. And I actually got it for $494 refurbished iPad Pro 11 from Apple store with 10% extra discount from military discount.
